Because only 11,000 are counted as lost which is in no way the crew count of those ships involed.

What about the other races of the alpha quadrant? Ferengi, Cardassian, Bajoran, etc? If they FIRST TIME you use a weapon against the collective it is fully effective (because they've never encountered it) then in any INITIAL battle the collective is gonna take a pounding for a few minutes at least.

I reckon in J-25 if the Enterprise D hadn't been limited by picard's Starfleet idealism of disable instead of destroy, given the visual effectiveness of a few phaser blasts, i reckon the E-D could have carved up the cube and fled easily.

The energy-draining tractor beam and getting carved up like a Xmas goose sort of put the kibosh on any whuppin' that the E-D was going to give out.

But what about weapon techs that are basically the same, like Klingon and Romulan disruptors? Wouldn't you think that if the Borg adapted to the Klinon disruptors at Wolf 359, then Romulan weapons most likely wouldn't work from the on-set

well. i reckon they'd get a few good shots before the collective adapted. buying time, as it were.

I wonder how effective it would have been for ship based artillery rounds against the Borg.

We dont know for sure if the Klingons or Romulans have faced the Borg in combat, if they havent they wouldnt have adapted to their weapons yet.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

They have assimilated Klingons and Romulans, and as we saw from Locutus that's would give them tacticle data on those ships, assuming the assimilated individuals knew the data.

They had assimilated Klingons but that doesnt mean they were on a warship.

Cargo ships, personal ships, transport ships.

Just because we dont see them doesnt mean they arent there.

But I'm sure every Klingon ship has a weapon of some sort. And Klingons aren't the type to go down without a fight.

They may have weapons but they would be of different make and model to military ones.

Different power outputs, ranges, dispersement angles maybe - but a Klingon civilian disruptor cannon works on the same principles as a Klingon mil-spec disruptor cannon.

Just out of curiousity, what do you guys suppose would happen if one of those ships pulled up right up alongside the cube and auto destructed, detonating their warp core for maximum effect? Could the Borg's adaptive shielding have stood up to such a concentrated burst ok KE?
