That's a great idea but until retards stop than we need to do what we can to minimise the damage.

Aren't you a Yank? Remember what happened last time that was tried?

Chances are that your going to have the opposite effect: an increase in drunk driving plus alochol related crime and posioning thanks to no quality control.

It was tried once---didn't work. Ever hear of a little thing called Prohibition?

Nope, don't remember. Ask Mikey, he's pretty old.

I have two simple steps for decreasing drunk driving, 1)Take away the license perminatly after the first offense, 2)felony-level penalties for repeat offenses

No.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

With over crowded prisons? Nice theory but impractical, at least Felony Imprisonment.

In which case they will still drive with nothing physically baring them from driving. At least with the lockout they have to put an effort into it. And that can often be enough to stop a disaster.
2)felony-level penalties for repeat offenses
That's only going to work by expanding prisons or getting rid of the War on Drugs which produces the most inmates.

Oh and congrats, you fail American History.

It's another pain in the ass to deal with. I doubt this could be made practicle, not to mention it's another thing to maintain on the car.

How about fat people stop eating so much, and we'll get rid of billions in obesity related health care costs?

How about sluts stop f*cking a bunch of strangers, so we can limit the spread of potentially lethal STDs?

How about rap 'artists' shut the f*ck up, so we can end the epidemic of awful music?

Once you start policing 'morals', where does it stop? I never drink and drive, and I don't think anyone should give me a f*cking morality lesson about the fact that I enjoy a few drinks.

Tough shit, and frankly if you think a regular car is a pain than I pity you. They are virtually idiot proof.

Wrong on both accounts. Canada employs them on the second DUI offence. They both work and work well enough not to cause maintence issues. It's a computer hooked to the vehicle battery, and there's already one in the vehicle.

And yet you missed Prohabition, Guess that's why you didn't get that A.

Yet, we still haven't been able to fix the radio on my dad's van(it only get's power when the van's on meaning that it has no memory). Anyway, the last thing I need to worry about is some pain-in-the-ass breathalyzer, which I don't need, while I'm working on the bloody fan.

Actually that's not covered in American History in high school

It was covered in my 9th grade year.

Yet again you miss the issue, if your lock out doesn't work than you can't go anywhere. So then you have to get it fixed. And once again: why are your personal wants more important than societies safety?

I'm going to call BS on that, considering it's covered in Canadian history classes.

I think the point shi's trying to make is: if you can't afford to fix it when it stops working, you can't get to work, can't pay rent, and soon will be homeless. There's already enough expensive crap on cars that can break down.

Like I said, as long as I don't have to pay for the thing (or for repairs if it breaks), I have no problem with it at all.
