No prob for me, even if you do some snooping - if you think it's in Darel's character, then by all means.

What the frak? I thought we had more time to get our pre-battle posts in. I actually had an idea that I haven't even had time to discuss with Mikey yet
The battle had been starting for a long time now, so I thought I'd push it along ;)

Also there's no problem with backdating, and my post left it a little open ended, it doesn't necessarily have to be the start of the main battle, just something going on.

Mikey's a good friend. I wish I had more of those type of friends.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

So the battle has begun.

Just to recap the mian points and where everyone is.

Mikey, Reliant, Teaos, Thorin are on the Daystrom.

Rochey is on the Dakota.

Monroe is on the Dakota but will land on the planet pretty fast.

M'Real is on the Daystrom but will launch with th fighters.

Tsu and MMI are in strike group three going for the attack platforms..

The Brotherhood has a fleet of ship and advanced warning of the fleet. I will be RPing as the enemy fleet for the battle to make it more dynamic.

It also has the defence platforms and the massive astroid guns.

The subspace weapons can be countered with the flak torpedoes but they torpedoes are not 100% effective. If a subspace weapon hits a ship it is pretty much screwed. From what we saw in Insurrection they open a rift in supspace the rips open and goes towards the nearest warp drive.

The Brotherhood may also have hidden suprises waiting... but You'll see what I have planned.

Now everyone remember one of the few rules I laid down when this RP started... no supermanning. Thus battle should take times and take turns for and against both sides. A small ship is not going to go take down one of the big capital ships or take out a dozen enemy craft because you are that kick arse... no one will be impressed. It doesnt read well and is pathetic, it also destroys the credability of a story. Also dont go blowing up ships everywhere all we'll run out of things to shoot. Take your time and let other people play in the battle.

The only definate points that have to come out of this is that the Federation wins but not easily. The Daystrom must survive but can be damaged and it is up to Rochey and Tsu and MMI if they destroy their ships.

Yeah sure that was just the starting formation. The strike groups are all gonna split up to do their different jobs and then split up more for individual battles.

Nice post Reliant, just a couple of things; It's called the Daystrom (no 'e'), and turning off the inertial dampers would kill everyone on board. Maybe rather turned them down a bit. It seems like shuttles have more relaxed inertial dampers so that the pilots can 'feel' where they're going more and/or they get better maneuverability.

Would the inertial dampers affect the maneuverability at all? I thought they only adjusted the internal attitude for the safety of the meat on board.

I'm pretty positive that on one episode, someone turned off the dampeners somewhere for increased manouvreability.
