I'm angry as hell atm. Something has corrupted my windows dll32 file so i have to reformat my computer. The advantage is that Vista is far easier to reformat. the disadvantage is i'm losing shit loads of data.
i'm transferring some of mi crap over to the external hardrive i got wired up to my machine atm.

Can't you simply re-install over the existing disk without formatting. That way you shouldn't loose data. Also, doesn't vista support rollback to a restore point, XP did.Reliant121 wrote:I'm angry as hell atm. Something has corrupted my windows dll32 file so i have to reformat my computer. Yes it does, it's under start menu/all programs/accessories/system tools.IanKennedy wrote: Can't you simply re-install over the existing disk without formatting. That way you shouldn't loose data. Also, doesn't vista support rollback to a restore point, XP did.

Fucking hell. I had to reformat my entire drive...again and it turns out my backup files somehow were missing 95% of my pictures, porn and otherwise. Some of the stuff which can't be found anymore, like some stuff from Star Trek Australia. Now I have to go around rebuilding my collection which'll take days, weeks, maybe months, and it still won't be fully restored.

What OS and what updates/service packs do you have?
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

If you have XP you need to install XP sp2 before you get connected to the internet. If you don't you will be infected before you even manage to download the updates from Microsoft. I would also recommend you install each and ever update they have to offer, and that you turn on auto update as without it you have a machine that wont last past the next problem.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Today's Fathers Day and like we do every year I get to spend it with my inlaws (apperently my father in law is also a father), who combine it with several birthdays.
I think you can see where this is going, the only good thing about it is that it's at a campground rather than the double-wide.

Are you barbequing? If so, just enjoy the food; I imagine the weather won't be too bad. Ignore anything (or anyone) you don't care for.Cpl Kendall wrote:Today's Fathers Day and like we do every year I get to spend it with my inlaws (apperently my father in law is also a father), who combine it with several birthdays.

I hate Father's Day.

Like every Christmas, Birthday, and Father's Day present, I got mine a bottle of scotch.
It suits us both - he gets what he likes, I don't have to go looking

That's basically what I did. The best thing about the whole deal was that no one wished the three fathers that were there a happy fathers day.Tsukiyumi wrote:

Sounds like it went about as well as could be expected. No one wished me a happy fathers day either, but then, they don't know any better.Cpl Kendall wrote:That's basically what I did.
