StarFox 64 is an old N64 game from about 1997. It's now available for download on the virtual console, which is a feature on the Wii. You can hook up either the Gamecube controller or the Classic type Wii controller to the Wii so you can play it. The classic controller is flat, like the old NES and SNES consoles, while the Gamecube controller has hand grips like the original N64 controllers. In fact, the Gamecube is a more efficient version of the N64 controllers.

Trust me, you'll want to play this game. You'll laugh at the 10 year old graphics for about five minutes, then you realize how awesome this game is. It was the first game I downloaded for the virtual console.

I feel old now. I'm talking to someone who wasn't even alive when the first Starfox game came out, or when Clinton was elected, or when 3-D was the biggest thing in gaming.

I just remembered that this game was called Starwing in Europe due to copyright issues.

Chakat, you can't feel old until you describe Asteroids on an Atari 2200 to someone and they say, "what's an Atari 2200". And yes, Starfox for the '64 was an amazing game, but for the '64, I love Super Mario 64. The graphics in that game alone are worth getting it. Sadly, I don't have a N64 or a Wii, I have a GameCube, and I do have Starfox Adventures, where you play as McCloud himself on a planetary surface. Again, first rate graphics.

You can always download an emulator, whittington. I'm playing Mario Kart 64 and Ocarina of Time at the moment.

Man Starfox, loved it. One person in my neighborhood had a N64. EVERY kid around would go to watch some one play, and hope to play them selfs.
After awhile we found Golden Eye. THAT was a fun game. the only multi player shooter im good at acculy.

And that's about the only good thing about Adventures. That, and the blue vixen... :D

Star Fox 64(aka Lylat Wars) and Star Fox Command are must haves. I don't know about the original, I have the ROM but I don't have a controller and the controls don't translate well to my computer. I also have the ROM for the unreleased Star Fox 2, but it has the same control issue, and is in japanese.

Umm.. Am i the only one here who played Starfox Assault for the GC, then? They made it after adventures and its a return to good ole LylatWars/Starfox 64 style gameplay, along with dubiously shaped boss battleships.

Though its REALLY short. Kinda annoying that.

But team starwolf are in it and they're awsome, so ill forgive them that xD i kinda wish they'd do a Starwolf based spinoff game of Starfox... and then i remember how much the Shadow spinoff of Sonic sucked =/

But panther, the new Starwolf pilot.. his voice makes me meeeelt... xD

You know better then that. I've played all the Starfox games, even the unrealesed ones. Not saying I finished them but I have played to some extent.

My friend Tyson just gave me his old school SNES AND his Sega Genesis with games for both, and I now am the proud owner of the original StarFox! Yay, FX chip!
