You're the one who set yourself at that rank. I recomended a lieutenant rank. Guess you should have gone with that, huh?My character is a Lt. Cmd. while his is a LT. I do not understand why a Lt. Cmd. would take orders from someone of a lower rank
Also, we've pointed out that it would be quite easy to get you a decrease in rank so you could function in this capacity.
Yes, you're trying. That doesn't mean you're succeeding, or that the ideas you put forward are anyway realistic.I'm trying to be creative. All your character has ever done is punish crewman and create problems for everyone.
And yes, my character has managed to keep to his backstory and established personality pretty well, thank you.
No, I don't.And you don't have to join Thorin's side on this.
Did you have a point with this, or did you just feel like stating the blindingly obvious?
Yes, I tend to be on the side of debates that are often right. This happens to be because I have opinions which are generaly backed by facts. And I'm not the only one who's noticed that you always join the winning side.
You seriously thought that pissing off the ship's XO, screwing with the security systems and sending unauthorised messages wouldn't have any consequences? No, everytime I do something you or your character block my path. Example: I couldn't send a message without you going through my mail. Then I had to deal with getting unmonitored messeges out. That was NOT FUN.
See, that's the problem here that you fail to understand: actions always have consequences. You failed to take that into account when you were RPing as Blackstar, and even when it was quite clear you were already in a pit of trouble, you took out a shovel and started digging deeper.
Its the exact same here. You can't piss off the senior staff of a warship and expect them not to turn against you, particularly when they have the power to take actions against you.
On numerous occasions I've suggested alternate paths that may make ammends with characters you've antagonised, on none of those occasions did you take my advice, which resulted in you making things worse.
The sooner you realise that actions have consequences, the sooner characters will stop trying to obstruct you for their own safety.
You are the one who created your character with such a narrow field of expertise that she's useless once her role is fulfilled. Now if I continue with this RP I have to come up with a reason to keep my character on board and deal with Monroe accusing my character of something she didn't do. Gee that sounds like a lot of fun. NOT!
You are the one who came up with the idea of the Caitian captain being your father.
You are the one who's antagonised other officers to the point where they consider you a threat to themselves.
All the problems you've named are caused by yourself. The sooner you recognise this, the better.
Just because you have a stronger arguement doesn't mean that you're right. It just means you're more likely to win. There's a difference. Didn't you learn anything from high school law classes?
Oh, man, I'm so tempted to put that in my sig. Sadly, there's not enough room.
Eh? You're the one getting mad just because someone else happens to be occupying the position you want. That's too bad, but hardly Thorin's fault. If you wanted Tactical, you should have asked for it when we were first setting the RPG up.I'd like to point out that [Thorin is] the one who creates problems for the forum. I am trying to create an interesting story here.
How mature.I hope a console explodes in your character's face

You could say something helpful.Thorin wrote:Your ideas so far aren't viable and aren't wanted. What more can I say?ChakatBlackstar wrote:You're playing it fast and loose with the word interesting aren't you.
Well, you could be on my side for a change of pace. You know, just once to prove you can do it.Did you have a point with this, or did you just feel like stating the blindingly obvious?
No, it's because you keep talking until we're bored of the subject and are tired of arguingYes, I tend to be on the side of debates that are often right. This happens to be because I have opinions which are generaly backed by facts.
I thought he'd give a stern lecture, not create a whole new security system and read my mail. You seriously thought that pissing off the ship's XO, screwing with the security systems and sending unauthorised messages wouldn't have any consequences?
None that would be staying in-character which you people are so adament aboutOn numerous occasions I've suggested alternate paths that may make ammends with characters you've antagonised, on none of those occasions did you take my advice, which resulted in you making things worse.
No I didn't. I went along with it.You are the one who came up with the idea of the Caitian captain being your father.

I suggest getting a new character.ChakatBlackstar wrote: You could say something helpful.
Why would anyone want to join the 'losing' side whose argument has very little (if any) basis?Well, you could be on my side for a change of pace. You know, just once to prove you can do it.
It's because your argument is not backed by anything. No, it's because you keep talking until we're bored of the subject and are tired of arguing
You wanted my position. You can't have it. You tried to circumnavigate that by creating a character with a high rank. It didn't work.

And you could suggest ideas that make sense. You could say something helpful.
I'll do it when you hold a position I agree with.Well, you could be on my side for a change of pace. You know, just once to prove you can do it.
Says the one who constantly goes 'round in circles and repeats hirself? No, it's because you keep talking until we're bored of the subject and are tired of arguing
And exactly what about my character gave you the impression he'd do that, rather than take the chance to sieze more power for himself?I thought he'd give a stern lecture, not create a whole new security system and read my mail.
Then stop creating characters that are so damn stubborn that they won't stop digging the hole deeper.None that would be staying in-character which you people are so adament about
Yes, you did, liar. You proposed the idea to me a while ago that the reason M'Real dislikes me is that I attacked a ship full of Caitians when they drifted into Tholian space, killing most of your family. You then came up with the idea that the crew of the ship, or some of them, could be related to you.No I didn't. I went along with it.

Well, I didn't think you'd try to turn the Daystrom into a commie ship. And exactly what about my character gave you the impression he'd do that, rather than take the chance to sieze more power for himself?
No, it was whoever said that the enemy captain was a Caitian with a scar over one eye and was out for vengence because his family died. Then that person suggested that it would be a cool character development plot, I shrugged and went along with it against my better judgement.Yes, you did, liar. I suggest you fix your record player because I'm getting tired of hearing this tune.I suggest getting a new character
Just because it's the losing side doesn't mean it's the wrong side. Why would anyone want to join the 'losing' side whose argument has very little (if any) basis?
No I want the fraking fighters you moron. You can keep your ship defenses. You wanted my position. You can't have it.
Then don't ask for helpful comments, as that is one.ChakatBlackstar wrote:I suggest you fix your record player because I'm getting tired of hearing this tune.
The stronger argument is stronger because it is better supported by fact. I've never seen a correct argument lose. Why? Because it's correct. Your argument is wrong. Accept it.Just because it's the losing side doesn't mean it's the wrong side.
Fighters are tactical. No I want the fraking fighters you moron. You can keep your ship defenses.
It's like saying you want the torpedos. They're both an integral part of tactical.
You aren't having ultimate control over either, unless you become head of tactical. Which you're not. Get over it.

No it's not. Would you like it if I suggest you replace your character? No. So what the frak makes you think I would like it when you suggest it?Thorin wrote:Then don't ask for helpful comments, as that is one.ChakatBlackstar wrote:I suggest you fix your record player because I'm getting tired of hearing this tune.
I meant opinion arguments you obtuse little man.The stronger argument is stronger because it is better supported by fact. I've never seen a correct argument lose. Why? Because it's correct. Your argument is wrong. Accept it.Just because it's the losing side doesn't mean it's the wrong side.
I'm not saying ultimate control, but you could loosen the reigns just a tad.Fighters are tactical. No I want the fraking fighters you moron. You can keep your ship defenses.

And what would I do with torpedoes? hmm....you know I could actually come up with something along those lines.

If my character had a poor backstory that didn't allow them to do anything meaningful, yes.ChakatBlackstar wrote:No it's not. Would you like it if I suggest you replace your character? No. So what the frak makes you think I would like it when you suggest it?

If you wanted to control the fighters to some degree, you'd have to join tactical. But I'd still have ultimate control.I'm not saying ultimate control, but you could loosen the reigns just a tad.
