Actually Rochey is the one who first jumped in the Runabout and started the dogfight. All Blackstar was doing was roughing him up a bit, while we're at it.

Well, for starters he could've called up someone who had contacts who could vouch for him. Now who could have helped with that...
You mean Thrall, your Tholian contact? There's a few problems with that:
1) Munro may not have known about Thrall at this point. I think the whole reason he was in charge was because I'd told Mikey to silence Thrall permanantly.
2) Even if he did, he probably figured Mikey had killed him.
3) Calling up a guy we know absolutely nothing about and trusting our lives to him when his only motivation is profit is not a good idea.
And Rochey is an exchange officer who will have to be given back to the Tholians sooner or later.
I never said how long he'd be sticking around for. You're probably going to be stuck with him for the forseeable future.
Or maybe I'll go with a different character, change can be good.
*shrug* I'll see how things go. This mission still isn't over yet, so there's plenty of time.
Actually Rochey is the one who first jumped in the Runabout and started the dogfight.
Actualy, it was Talora who started the dogfight by freaking out the slavers by shooting my ship down, which at that point had been doing nothing but powering up its engines and guns. That alone wouldn't have caused a massive aerial fight, I doubt the slavers are paranoid enough that they'd shoot down any ship that tried to leave.
So the blame for that one lies partialy with Talora, who caused the dogfight, and Blackstar, who brought about this whole scenario by attacking hir superior officer.
All Blackstar was doing was roughing him up a bit, while we're at it.
Still counts as mutiny and treason.

Pretty sure we didn't know about Thrall at that point but yeah I'm not positive. Still Rochey's got a point, why would we trust the guy?

Blackstar clearly had a reputation in the underworld and he could've tried contacting hir.

The sooner the better.
Once everything seemed to be in order Murno left to prepare his report on the security breach and possibly M'Real's connection to it.
Is Monroe seriously going to accuse M'Real of jail break without any evidence whatsoever?

There's enough info to start an investigation. M'Real's relation to the captain and all. Any other Caitains onboard would be suspect also. Total racial profiling and all.

A reputation which none of us knew about. You didn't even bother to inform the rest of us that you had a contact on the planet, how the hell was Munro to know you're well known in the criminal underworld?
The sooner the better.
I said maybe. The difficulty comes with picking a species. Tholians are the only race who are remotely interesting in Trek. All the others are just boring, stupid, or sucky.

Why not? Every possible link has to be checked, and you're of the same race as the prisoners. That alone is a link. If anyone knows or finds out that you're related to the Captain then you'll be enjoying a stay in the brig for the duration of the mission, courtesy of the Commander and Munro.
Also, placing you under investigation has another benefit for Munro; it'll stop you from taking any action against him. If he starts investigating you, and you start trying to get the Captain to court-marshall him or throw him in the brig it'll look like you've got something to hide.

Then he should accuse all Caitains, and at no point specify that he's accusing M'Real. The only way he'd look more guilty about something then accusing his accuser of something, would be to kill her. And she's got an airtight alibi and helped clean up his mess by capturing the ringleader and some of his men. Plus a security recording of what she said the the Caitain captain, since I'm sure the brig would have some sort of recording system in place.

He was along for the ride when they got to the planet.

Could create one of your own, or have another universe jumper like I did.

See my last post.

EDIT: Maybe someone who's competent should take over the investigation. Someone who hasn't shot his own men, hasn't ordered one of his own men shot, and didn't let prisoners escape. So that rules out Monreo and Rochey. Taoes seems like the best choice since he had nothing to do with the away mission. However Mikey more likely had the necessary training for that job.

The sooner the better.
I think Rocheys character has consistently been the most interesting. He flows well with Monroe while clashing with my guys laid back style. He has a mutual respect with Mikey while not really trusting him and a seething hatred for Blackstar.

He is not a super hero and is very well rounded and has a good character. I would be very sorry to see that character go.

I agree I like Rochey's character. He's unique and has a lot of potiential for new plots. Far as why Munro didn't just list all Caitains well M'Real is the only one controlled by a player :P And she did mysteriously arrive right before the accident. And she is related to the captain (which we're aware of because of the records). And we never actually said there were other Caitains on board. So I'm not saying there weren't other caitians in the report just we haven't decided if any exist or not.

He is accusing all Caitians, he said that in the very piece you quoted:
Monroe wrote:There's enough info to start an investigation. M'Real's relation to the captain and all. Any other Caitains onboard would be suspect also. Total racial profiling and all.

Possibly, but if the aforesaid recording system happened to catch you mentioning that he was your father, you're in some seriously deep trouble when Rochey hears about it.
Regardless of what you did afterwards, the motivation is right there in plain view for the whole crew to see, and it's more than enough to start some sort of investigation over, maybe even a trial. Sure, you'd get out of it easily enough, but it'd be a serious blow to your reputation and credibility on board the ship, and would drag any investigations you're involved with to a complete halt.
He was along for the ride when they got to the planet.
Yeah, and? You mentioned that you had one contact: Thrall. You never said you had numerous contacts, or that he's useful or trustworthy. In fact, given my later order to Mikey to kill Thrall, it would be quite logical of Munro to assume that Thrall was not trustworthy.
Could create one of your own, or have another universe jumper like I did.
*shrug*
Maybe. I'm fine with my current character for now, though. If I get tired of him I'll replace him, but for the forseeable future you're stuck with the cruel and uncaring Tholian.
Maybe someone who's competent should take over the investigation.
Like yourself, who has so far been unable to get a meeting with the ship's XO, let alone bring any investigations on the ship to a conclusion, and who would also be a prime suspect? Not likely.
Someone who hasn't shot his own men, hasn't ordered one of his own men shot, and didn't let prisoners escape. So that rules out Monreo and Rochey.
How does that rule me out? Let's go through those bits one by one:
Someone who hasn't shot his own men,
Okay, good. I never shot one of my own men, so I'm safe there.
hasn't ordered one of his own men shot,
Neither have I ordered a crewman killed. Still good.
and didn't let prisoners escape.
Nor have I let any prisoners escape. That's Munro's department, not mine.

Hmm, seems like I'm just fine for taking on the investigation of this matter after all.
Taoes seems like the best choice since he had nothing to do with the away mission. However Mikey more likely had the necessary training for that job.
Teaos is a scientist. He'd be good at figuring stuff out, but I'm not sure how good he'd be in an investigation of this scale and importance.
Mikey's not a bad choice, as he's smart and knows what he's doing.

However, this is a security matter, so it would naturaly be handled by Munro, who is head of security. If you can somehow convince the Captain to get command of the invetigation taken away from him, then it would be transfered to someone higher up the chain of command. And that, naturaly, would be me.

Thanks. He's definitely an interesting creature to play as, and contrasts nicely with how Fed ships are generaly run. His paranoia, scheming, and distrust of virtualy everyone else on the ship is also fun to work with. His alliance with Munro also means that there's a very powerful and ruthless faction on board the ship that has both the authority and will to get things done, no matter the cost. As M'Real is undoubtedly finding out, that alliance of high-ranking officers can make it very difficult to bring charges against any of them.

Hmm, now that Thorin is back in action, I'm sure Rochey would be interested in getting the Tactical Officer on his side, as well.

The senior officers really are closed off. The Captain likes most of them well enough and likes to keep everything in ship.

Rochey and Monroe have an alliance and have several lower offficers under their sway.

Mikey has an informal pack with them.

Teaos is a loner and doesnt really like Rochey but is smart enough to know whats best for him and the ship.

The rest of the officers are probably intimidated by it all.

I agree Rochey is a damned good character, adding a little flare to the normally pathetically friendly, humoured or good natured starfleet. Crew...and sometimes its nice to have an ass to work under...protects you from far bigger asses.
Well i suppose i could post at some point. I have no idea what about, being a helsman, but hey.

You could always post some off-duty stuff. There's always the other characters to interact with.
