Well, I thought my last post effectivly put Monroe in irons, or at least relieved of duty and confined to quarters, but then the whole thing with the Tholians went down distracting the captain. I figured I'd let someone else do the arresting since M'Real is not a security or tacticle officer and I wasn't totally sure if Munroe would resist or not.

Well, someone, probably Mikey will have to take care of that. Rochey could but the Commander seems to have a thing for our Breen so I'm not sure how he'll react.

Actually, in your last post you SUGGESTED that Munro be arrested - given the Captain's attitude on the matter, I doubt that that's what actually will happen. You have no authority over the Captain - or Rochey, or me - in this matter.

No, I suggested Munroe be confined to quarters rather then put in the brig. And either way he's still charged with the murder of Forester.

Charged by whom? You can't override the Captain, and he appears to be under no inclination to do so.

Well, she is in charge of the investigation. And doesn't the captain have a duty as a Starfleet captain to charge Monroe for his crimes regardless of personal feelings? Or are we just going to conveniently forget what Monroe did?

I think you're confusing the ideas of "wrong" and "criminal." During the mission, I expressed my conviction that what he did was wrong; however, I haven't seen any investigation that showed that what he did was criminal. Of course, he may be confined pending such an investigation/hearing; but I think that, based on how YOU wrote the Captain in your last post, such a proceeding should not be an interminable affair. As far as involving me, I would advise you to remember that I was actually the local ranking officer when the incident took place, and I probably won't take too well to anyone trying to impugn my authority or second-guess my decision. Besides, I still haven't even had a chance to let you knoww that I got Rochey to allow you limited access to the comms!

Anyhow, such affairs are your lot, not mine. I would, however, just remind you that in this case, the ends of this game should come before any slavish devotion to "realism."

BTW - M'real came aboard under the guise of being a member of Starfleet Intelligence, IIRC. Was this a false pretense? She seems to be doing the work more of some sort of IA agent rather than intel.

Ya, the Tholians showing up in general seems to have caused a few problems.

Sometime this weekend I'm going to try and create a flashback scene of M'Real's previous interviews to establish why she feels that Monroe's actions were criminal.

As for the rest, Mikey and M'Real could have a dinner together where he tells her about the access thing, while she explains what happened in the investigation.

And what's an IA agent? I tried googling it, but I didn't get any real answers...I think.

If Munro gets removed from duty over this, temporarily or permanently, expect the Commander to be less than pleased. And by that I mean 'pretty damn angry'. Munro's one of his most useful and effective officers on board the ship, and he won't take kindly to having him removed. Also, know that we have some prisoners on board, Rochey'll want Munro around for the interogation.

Yeah, maybe a civil dinner would be a good time to discuss and to let you know that I got Rochey to allow comm access for you through me. By "IA" I meant "Internal Affairs." You know, like the police department agency which investigates the police?

Several times, actualy. Munro did nothing wrong, and actualy saved lives with his actions. Sure, he did kill someone, but he saved the rest of the team in doing so. I doubt any sanctions will be put against him.

But wouldn't Starfleet or most militarys at least put him on trial for shooting one of his own men? Even if he did do the right thing, just to prove he did do the right thing?
