Perhaps there is still something left in the freighters warp engines. I am guessing Blackstar wishes to detonate the antimatter near the Tholian battlecruisers. Perhaps the warp nacelles or the impulse manifolds could also be detonated to disable the warships.

I'm surprised Rochey didn't jump all over that name. :D

I'm gonna try to get something up tonight, but if anyone beats me to it - PLEASE remember that we are Starfleet officers, and blowing up the ships of a new-found and tentative ally is not the way they'd like us to go... I'm gonna try to think of something to avoid that AND ferret out the true evil-doers.

Hmm? I don't get the reference, sorry. IIRC, it was something from the Spanish Civil War, in the 30's. That's all I can think of, though. :?

Perhaps. Though let's try to keep it somewhat realistic. Unless we do a runner, we've no hope of taking on this fleet. Heck, half as many of those ships could likely kick the crap out of us. So even if Blackstar somehow manages to miraculously lure two of the warships close enough to the freighter for them to be destroyed, we're still screwed if we don't run.
I'm predicting one Federation ship destroyed, one (us) badly damaged and fleeing the system, with one (maybe two) Tholian ships destroyed.

OMG! I've been composing it off and on today on my PDA, and I think it's a really plausible, workable solution.

However, my wi-fi is down at work, so I MAY not be able to actually send it to myself and post it until this evening US Eastern (GMT -5 hrs.) I am going to TRY to beam it to my cell phone, and e-mail it from there, but I lost the Bluetooth product key for my PDA, so IDK if that'll work.

Yeah, I can't get it on here until tonight. A little heads-up: the outcome is VERY similar to Rochey's withdrawn post, but I've eliminated the idea of the Fifth Column being a willing active participant in hostile actions. If anybody has a problem with this, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

I don't. Just remember mistakes and costly hesitations are good. Part of the problem I had with Rochey's post is how quick the crews reacted. I've seen no evidence that Fetcher is a competent captain yet :P

Actually, I sort of took most of the action on myself...

BUT I did definitely base it on things that had previously been established by my character in our story! Very early, in fact.

One thing that will be easy for me to amend, but IDK the situation: is Munro now acting as our tac guy, is he "just" head of security, or is he getting thrown in irons?

I think Mikey is our tactical officer and Munro is just head of security... so Mikey since you're asking I have no clue.

OK, I'll amend it when I put it up to reflect me running tac via ops.
