So did General Custer...
How can you not like TOS at all? Sure, some of it was pretty cheesy, and the effects were crap, but it gave us stories like "Balance of Terror", "City on the Edge of Forever", etc. Without TOS there would be no Trek.

Great: Mirror Mirror, The Omega Glory, City on the edge of forever (obvious reasons. Those episodes appealed to me)
Good: Arena, Space Seed, The Menagerie. Those episodes were entertaining, and thought provoking.
Average: Wolf in the Fold, The Naked Time, The trouble with tribbles.
I found them all entertianing, but not really thought provoking.
Bad: The Devil in the Dark, Amok Time.
Poorly thought out...but a mild amount of entertainment value.
Terrible: Miri, And the Children shall lead.
I found these dull and poorly thought out.

Re: Good, Bad, Ugly: TOS
In TOS, it feels so much more like they are actually exploring new frontiers, more so to me than the other series for some reason.
Great: Charlie X: Spock smiling coyly and stroking his harp while Uhuru sings an off-key space shanty in which she calls him a space devil. The E: The Enterprise herself is such a unique ship, that I often wonder where the idea for it came from. It almost seems that the ship should be ungainly based on it's design, and yet she is an understated mix of form and function.
Good: Kirk winning the most unlikely fist fights, such as the one with Khan, who is supposed to be able to lift Kirk with one hand.
Average: No SF ships other than the Constitution are shown.
Bad: Yeoman Rand, the first cross-eyed retard to serve in SF. Takes around the futuristic Tic Tac Toe board to all of the bridge staff to make sure they all get a turn to play. Still better than Wesley, however.

Re: Good, Bad, Ugly: TOS
Great: Phasers. I LOVE watching people get vaporised. Still an awsome effect for me.
Good: The main characters. It was the characer relation with one another that really brought the show to life.
Average: The women. Maybe it was just a sign of the times, but there weren't any REALLY knock down gorgeous women on the Enterprise at the time. No wonder Kirk went after all the alien tail. (except for that gal that Apollo put into the dress with the double sided tape, but she became hot AFTER she lost the uniform.)
Bad: The NPCs or bit characters. Rand, Chapel, Kyle, and so forth. While they fleshed out the crew a bit, they didn't really have time to develop personalities, so one didn't really come to like them.
Terrible: SPACE HIPPIES!!!! AAAAARRRRRRGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

Hey, at least you didn't experience the horror of all the bad memories flooding back into your mind.

Re: Good, Bad, Ugly: TOS
Well, Spock's Brain was at least (although most likely unintentionally) highly amusing. I almost laughed my head off! Shows like "The Way to Eden" and "The children shall lead" where outright terrible.

I believe that is from Star Trek: The 25th Anniversary game.

Man, it's been years since I even THOUGHT about that game.

It is indeed! I love those old games and fortunately I have an old computer where those old DOS-Games still run!Johnny Starfleet wrote:I believe that is from Star Trek: The 25th Anniversary game.
