Been working this holiday, but that's par for the course with me. At least I mostly work out back and it hasn't been too bad this year.

Lost my last cat today. Three months ago he survived my house fire just fine and healthy as can be. Six weeks ago his health took a turn for the worse.

This morning, we tried one more time to help him but he died tonight about an hour and a half ago.

He was 17. The loudest purrer I ever heard. He snored, he was vocal. He loved humans, but loved me the most. It was no secret people who met him and my other cat that I did favor Tricycle the most.

Tricycle was named due to him missing a hind leg and I did not like his original name, Tinker bell or Tinkie for short. He was once my brother's first wife's cat, then my parents and then he came to me. It was because my first cat Kayto was the only cat that put up with him. They were best friends. I lost Kayto three months ago as well.

He was such a sweet cat.

So sorry to hear that. RIP tricycle. It’s always sad to loose a cat. I remember loosing Fluffy when she was about 18 years old. I didn’t have another one for a long time after. Our current eldest, Poppy, is 14 and the younger, Monster, 13.

Oh no. Not Tricycle. You've spoken about him before. Sounded like a fun little guy. Sorry for your loss.

He was such a vocal cat. Door closed at night? Let me show you the song of my people! Raaawwwhhhhworrrr! Oh you are petting me? I am a content cat? Let purr so loud the neighbors hear it! I want to go outside and I will let you know! Oh you won't let me well I am quick enough to escape anyway! But it's OK I won't go far and then I will come back and sit with you on the porch.

Better hide your cell phone Chargers and cords, your pens and pencils and any important paperwork, cuz I am going to chew on it! Yep including $35 worth of dollar bills. But that is OK, I will breakdown that cardboard box into small pieces for you.

I have a bad habit I needed to kick with catnip, but definitely can hear that bag shake from across the room. Nope I will not share it!

Oh this looks comfortable, so I will lay by your side when you sleep. Maybe even sleep into your armpit so you can't move for the rest of the night!

Sure bring strangers into the house, more loving for me. Don't worry, I have no fear of humans and never will hurt one. Don't bring dogs into my house though, I will move faster than my three legs should to attack that dog.

Definitely pick me up. I will mould my body to your arms and let you pet my belly. Or maybe I will want to be up on the shoulder and clean out your ear. Oh I love ear wax, so you better hide those used Q-tips!

Oh you are not here or not paying attention to me? I will go hang out with Kayto. Maybe he will want to fight.

I've just finished rewatching Batman: the Animated Series and Batman: Beyond. Both shows hold up so damned well, it's almost not funny.

So, bad update, but I gotta get this out. Just so folks know. My dad went into the hospital for an endoscopy last Tuesday, standard thing. The doctors found his body wasn't absorbing nutrients. He had a throat infection, electrolytes were low. So they kept him there. his condition worsened. Turns out it was pneumonia.
He seemed to be getting better, but i got a call this morning from my stepmother to come to the hospital. Dad was fading fast. I get there with Mom. Some of the other family's there, too. Dad is... he's dying. No other way to say it. I had a panic attack there, almost passed out. I said my goodbyes to him.
Dad... I loved him, awesome father. He got me into Star Trek, babylon Five, got my first Transformer toy. He taught me how to drive. He taught me a lot. God, just seeing him there was so... you know? He used to play goalie for hockey, I helped him dig leaves out of this stream behind his mobile home at Fieldstone Village. Just... not sure what else to say. Sorry.

That is all you have to say. Believe me when my Mom died, I was asked what do you remember her for and I was drawing up a blank at the time.

It is such a difficult thing to do, to watch one of your loved ones did in front of you. You have my condolences.

Thank you. It's been rough. I've been in something of a daze these past few days.
