I have yet to watch it. Some early reviews for it says it's bad. Though I noticed alot of it involves it being 'too woke' so I don't know about the actual quality. Someone saying it's 'woke' automatically makes me ignore that person's opinion.
Some say it feels like fanfiction. I will obviously give it a try. It's the first time we see a live action show on a setting before the Skywalker era.

Same. What kind of man, gets his panties in a bunch over female protagonists?
Haven't watched it yet myself, but I don't understand the fanfiction complaint. What does that even mean, in this era of Star Wars only previously explored in books and comic books? Some say it feels like fanfiction. I will obviously give it a try. Re: The Acolyte | Official Trailer | Disney+
Hoping to watch the 2 episodes today...I know nothing about it, so going in blind (so to speak).
Update: my first impression amounts to 'it surely will get better', much like Andor got better about half way through. I suspect the choice of not having a main character never seen before now (maybe in books or mentioned in passing) to pin the story on, leaves some viewers looking for a strong character to focus on. Expressionless Jedis and an actress tasked with a lot on her young plate, is a tough sell. Hoping the remaining 6 episodes can better focus the storytelling, and rush less with cut-away changes and toss away characters. CGI seems ok so far, some heavily borrowed material from other scifi films.
Update: Episode 3 is catching so much hate and extremely low ratings. My only complaint was if you have set a precedent of identical characters visually, when you show flashbacks, kinda need to show them identical there as well. All the rest of the hubbub complaints..meh..guess I don't care enough about it as a whole for it to matter.

Episode4: the halfway mark and things are not getting better. One character does a complete 180 in their motivation, that they spent three and a half episodes cementing. This was also extremely short compared to others...making me wonder if the writers gave up or just did not want to show any more 'action' to force a viewer to wait for the next episode. Meh!

I have only watched the first two episodes due to complications in being able to watch shows at the moment.
While I didn't mind the those episodes, I did feel it was 'meh' at best. The concept of having the Jedi at their prime is an interesting time frame to work with and having the Witches isn't bad either.
I just don't know about this show.

Episode 5: good action/fighting, obvious AF reveal, ye olde switch-a-roo trope, so much foreshadowing that if you have half a brain cell, you see what's coming several par secs away....sliding from 'meh' to 'why bother' for me.
