Re: Music you like.
We just saw Sturgil Simpson live this weekend. Incredible show. He lost his lead guitarist earlier this year, and turns out, he may be the single best guitarist I've ever watched live - and I've seen the likes of Iommi, Richards, Gary Clark Jr., and Warren Haynes.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

I've found myself listening to The Temptations quite a bit lately, after catching the 1998 miniseries on TV by happenstance maybe a month ago.

Re: Music you like.
This was probably my favorite Zeppelin song as a youth - still an all-time Top-10 Zep tune for me. IIRC, this was largely a Plant/Jones collaboration as far as the rhythm and melody (who is using 12/8 signature in rock in 1979?!) - and really speaks wonders of Plant's ability to write some of the catchiest melodies in rock (Good GOD were his last 2 solo albums incredible).Nutso wrote:https://www.youtube.com/embed/Zp-LBD_q0sQ
Nice choice, Nutso!

Well, there’s Pink Floyd’s “Money” which is AFAIK the only pop song ever in 7/8 time.

That rescue scene is one of the all time greats. Perfect music, perfect execution, perfect characterisation.
The only thing that bugs me is the pimp guy, which dates it horribly. But outside of that, just wonderful.

Yeah. The pimp guy dates it. Other than that, perfection.
Here's a song that's become a bit of an earworm for me.

Reminds me of Fiona Apple.
Anyway, my latest musical OCD fixation is Die Antwoord, a South African jungle/trip-hip act. To wit:

My brother in law introduced me to Viking metal. I didn't even know that was a thing till just a few days ago. Anyway, here's his favorite group (and I admit, it's starting to grow on me), Einherjer (pronounced en-HAIR-yur): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXhhF0NR4wU
The name translates as "undead spirits of warriors who died in battle taken to Valhalla by the Valkyries". And I now realize that Klingons are space Vikings.

Led to me thinking about what is my "oldies?"
