I hate Google Maps. I hate it with a passion. I am driving a Ford Transit Commerical van. It's big. Google Maps is constantly trying to take me on 'no commerical vehicle' parkways in New York.

Going to White Plains is much easier if you take the Tappan Zee Bridge. But no... Fucking Google Earth wants to me constantly jump onto side streets and park ways so I can get on the George Washington Bridge.

I use Google Earth because I am not familiar with the specific places I am going to and because I don't have a GPS.

You need to get the free app called Waze. I've been using it to drive in unfamiliar territories here in Jersey as well as to get to territories in Delaware, and it has been great. Aside from spot-on directions, including corrections, it lets you know where other users have indicated a stopped vehicle, cop, construction, etc. It also lets you know when to leave to get to a certain location at a specified time.

Gotta be careful with truck routes in Jersey... we have separate Turnpike lanes for trucks, alternate "business" highways that aren't always geographically identical, and completely different routes because parts of some highways are prohibited to vehicles over 6995 lbs. GVWR.

Here in New Hampshire, around this time of year for some ungodly reason, construction on roads start up. Why when it's getting cold and snowfall is threatening is, frankly, beyond my ability to comprehend.

Getting in that last bit of work done before it is too cold for concrete to set.

Yeah, the biggest problem is the fact that the Google Maps doesn't have an option to either let it know you are driving a commercial vehicle or someway for it to reroute away from the non commercial parkways. Also the Transit as big as it is, technically isn't a truck. Its somewhere in between a full size van and a small truck. So you can get confused on where specially you are allowed.

Most restrictions are based on the GVWR. That said, you're not likely to have many cops give you a problem in a Transit.

Yeah but when I drove in Long Island Google Maps really really wanted me to drive on one of the Parkways. Problem is this specific Parkway has overpasses that could make my Transit into a convertible. They are that low.

I was trying to scan an item, looked all over it for the bar code. Turns out it was under my thumb.

Yes, it was a long day.

Doing some sheet metal work today. If anyone who has drilled through sheet metal knows is that it's all good until the end, when the drill bit breaks through. Well, there is a bit of metal that usually catches the bit that will buck the metal, causing it to spin.

Well that happened to me, the sheet metal spun and flew off. I felt it hit by finger and I see not only the skin but muscle cut.

Well going to the hospital would have had them just glue it together and then bandage it. So I did it myself. So far so good.

It's not that major before anyone asks.

Been there. Also I've looked all over the goddamn bin 3 times for the box right in front of my face.
