I just learned about this myself. I was hoping it was one of those death hoax articles, but I guess it's for real. Real shame.

He fit the well perfectly. RIP
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

They damned well better dedicate the movie to him.

I'd be shocked if they didn't.

Thanks for moving my post. I was posting from work and didn't have time to check.

Not sure if this is the best time to bring this up or not, but I'm wondering how they will deal with this in the next Trek movie.
I'm hoping they don't just recast the role like nothing happened.

Re: Anton Yelchin (New Checkov) dead
Graham and I where discussing what would be done next. As I see it there's three options:
1) Disappear the character as if he never existed.
2) Promote him or kill him off screen and reference it in the next film.
3) Replace him.
To be honest I think the latter is the better choice. After all if Abramsverse has taught us anything it's that these roles can be successfully recast without the world ending. A few years ago I would have said differently but...

No worries. I've seen other people bring up the same subject. It's a viable line of discussion.Varthikes wrote:Not sure if this is the best time to bring this up or not, but I'm wondering how they will deal with this in the next Trek movie.
