I've seen videos like that before. It fascinates me... I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but it's clear that a whole lot of news channels are owned by the same company, and at least some of the time one guy writes a bit and just sends it out to every channel for them all to say. In this case, just a guy who was too lazy to write more than one funny intro line? Or a more sinister attempt to plant the idea in people's minds - "So we already convinced everyone they have to buy presents for one another... how about convincing everyone that they should buy a bunch of stuff for themselves as well?"

Some of these stories come out of the news feed like AP (Associated Press) and the local stations don't bother to change the wording as they received the news. They just spit it out verbatim. I am one for conspiracy theories but, I think it would be too much work for one corporation to make sure all its subsidiaries say the exact phrase to drive home a point. It's just plain laziness on the part of the local stations.
