What is with Patrick steward these days. Maybe I have been painting him as an eternal Picard whereas he is more of humorous side to him than I knew.

He's actually always been that way. During TNG he would often bemoan the fact that Picard was such a po-faced bugger, and was always asking if he could do more silly fun things. As a child I owned cats. They were sure as hell never this tolerant of being puppeteer material. If I tried to make them dance, I'd lose a finger.

I have two cats that would allow this for a time. When I was growing up we had a cat who would have allowed it bit he was a great cat.
