New Enterprise Look - Part XVII: Strength of the shields
New Enterprise Look - Part XVII: Strength of the shields
How strong should the shields be?
Re: New Enterprise Look - Part XVII: Strength of the shields
Honestly shield strength is just a number. I think a better discussion would be what kinda of shields it would have. How strong it would be in relation to the weapons it would carry.

How are they powered, how do they effect tgester other systems. Do they have back ups. Does it effect the build time. Is it rechargeable or can the power be redirected. Does it tie into the SIF.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

It's how it feels with the amount of topics being made. Soon, half the topics here are going to be new Enterprise look threads, I'm sur of it.

I say the newbs fight it out. Bare knuckle boxing. Ten rounds. No knockouts.

The shields in TOS and the old time line were stronger than what is in Abrams universe. What would the 1701's shields be like against Vger for example? Somehow The warp factors and drive systems are better in the reboot timeline but shields were an afterthought. As a result you would think the ships would have better hull armor than they do......
