They kind of tried that with The Outrageous Okona. Didn't work out too well.McAvoy wrote:I wouldn't mind if a TV show that combines Firefly into the Trek universe. In fact that would be awesome.

Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

Well that was way over the top and complete shit. Firefly wasn't that. I think it can be done. Starfleet had issues with the Maquis and Enterprise cannot be everywhere despite what they what us to think.

Yes, but that then turns into one of two things:McAvoy wrote:Well that was way over the top and complete shit. Firefly wasn't that. I think it can be done. Starfleet had issues with the Maquis and Enterprise cannot be everywhere despite what they what us to think.
1) Crap Staffleet ship vs Firefly
2) Good Starfleet ship vs Firefly (by by firefly).
1 is awful. 2 is a one episode thing.
The only reason the Maquis were a problem is so that they could Introduce Voyager. Not exactly a good reason to start another show on the same premise. Voyager was the least liked show until Enterprise came around.

A ship called the 'Pierce' dealing with medical disasters. A MASH reference?Jim wrote:
2) Star Trek: Pierce: A heavy rescue star ship. In the outline we got, the USS Pierce is described as being a new breed of starship with a prototype “warp Jump drive”. The warp jump is able to open an artificial wormhole between to wormhole generators. Starfleet vessels in the show have emergency beacons that contain one half of the wormhole generator. The USS Pierce also caries deployable probes that make up the other half of the wormhole generator. The typical episode plotlines will have some ship, space station or other exotic location befall some disaster or unknown medical outbreak.
