Historical fact time kiddies.

The Romans had everyone in the known world driving on the left hand side of the road, everyone did for almost 2000 years.

Then Napoleon took over most of Europe and to show that he was in charge he swap it to the right, for no other reason than because he could and he wanted to show how big his penis was.

That is Britain is the only country in Europe that drives on the left, it was the only one not conquerd by Napoleon. Also why its really only former British colonies like New Zealand and Australia that drive on the left.

So by driving on the right you are supporting a long dead French dictator. Long Live America.

Not for the US though. It had an unrelated reason for it. The truck drivers of the day, ie people who drive multiple horses that draw a cart sat on the left horse to keep his right arm free to whip the team if needed and drive on the right as they perfer it to see the wheels of the cart.

I believe this was actually common in Europe too before Napoleon Bonaparte. He just did it to make it standard.

The British hung onto being on the left which is why mainly old British colonies still drive on the left.

So... yeah. I drive on the right side so as to not crash into oncoming traffic. :P

Also, old episodes of WCW Nitro can be hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

How would sitting on the left enable them to see the wheels better than sitting on the right?

I've never seen a cart pulled by multiple horses where the driver would actually sit on one of the horses. The driver is usually placed on the cart. That allows you to have things like breaks.

The same way if they were sitting on the right horse. Apparently these carts back in the 17the century had no seat so they had to sit on horse. Also remember they had to sit on the left since they use their right had for the whip.

When I am talking about carts I mean literally carts. Wheel barrow style carts but with a team of paired of horses pulling it.

Well, my grandma went into the hospital yesterday with pneumonia; today, her kidneys started shutting down, and it looks like she's not going to make it.

...I don't know what I'm going to do now.
