Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
6.9 mmol/l (124.2 mg/dl in the units used here) is on the high side for a fasting reading. In mmol/l a healthy fasting is closer to 5 (90 mg/dl). How is your diet (how much sugar in a typical day)? It wasn't too hard for me to cut out the bulk of the gratuitous sugars (switching to diet soft drinks and other sugar-free drinks is a major step in that direction). Exercise counts for a lot too. I've started to try to exercise a bit more since my sugar has been higher than I'd prefer this summer, in fact some of my early efforts resulted in hypoglycemic (low sugar) episodes (this may be partly because my body is unaccustomed to the work, and rather out of shape).
My couple of weeks off from work has ended, and I'm back at work now. It was a good time off: the time at the beach resort was the highlight and I did a few other nice things. I also received my birthday gift a few weeks in advance, a small dresser to replace an old and worn night table. It's a bit bigger and I re-arranged the bedroom to accommodate it but the result is a more organized space.

I nearly had three accidents driving home from work because the other driver decided driving with their effin' smartphone glued to their ears was a good thing. Oh, for a phaser...

I once got stuck behind someone who was...reading a textbook and driving at the same time.

How about putting makeup on while drinking coffee and talking on the phone while driving?

I had a good day at work today. I like it when that happens.
