Need toast while gaming?

That is crazy awesome. If I ever do another ATX build I will have to include that.
Any other crazy things to put in 5.25" bays?
I didn't realize they had drawers, I thought that was a really neat idea.

I have four 5.25" bays in my case: one houses a DVD burner, another a blu-ray combo drive and the other two hold storage drawers. It's a convenient place to stow my installation and driver disks and other items.

Well that's just stupid.
You're going to run a resistance heater off the PSU? I'd be seriously concerned about the integrity of the PSU and the wiring given the amperage you need for a heater like that compared to the draw of regular PC equipment. Then there's the heat. You're putting a several hundred degree heat source inside your tower. Then there's the crumbs.
I get that it's a joke thing but that has to be the singular worst idea I have ever seen for a PC.

Yeah, didn't think about the heat.
Maybe a fridge would be better.

Considering the things I've seen done to computers, this is pretty mild.
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

There hasn't been a 5.25" drive in 15+ years. I am doubting kids nowadays even know what a floppy drive is anymore.

Standard desktop CD/DVD/Blue-Ray drives are 5.25" wide, thus those bays are 5.25" bays.McAvoy wrote:There hasn't been a 5.25" drive in 15+ years. I am doubting kids nowadays even know what a floppy drive is anymore.

Well then this is why I generally don't talk about computers.
I can talk about the merits of a smoked stout or porter as a replacement diet for real food and I can talk about sports....

There's a PC tech joke, which would be funnier if there weren't stories it actually happened. An uneducated PC owner asks a support tech about a problem with the "cup holder." After some confusion the tech determines the user meant the CD-Rom drive!McAvoy wrote:Well then this is why I generally don't talk about computers.
