My back is so f'ed up today, I can barely move and I can't stand up without sounding like Captain Caveman. Hopefully, a nice combo of jacuzzi, bourbon, and percocet will do the trick.

Cat pissed all over my prized suade Giants jacket. The thing was perfect size and comfortable. Cat did it awhile ago so the piss permanently stained it.

Was bored today, reading the Conan RPG board, and got to thinking about Red Sonja (not that way). It was mainly about her advantage/curse. She was raped as a child, and was given a blessing by an entity to be a superb fighter, but can only have sex with a man if he defeats her in combat.

Isn't that technically rape all over again? The most traumatic experience in her life, that changed her mentally from a happy Farmer's daughter to a deadly killer, and she has to relive it every time she wants to have sex? Her other female friends can pick a guy, take him to a room, and Sonja can hear what happens all night long (especially if she is next door). But if she wants to spend the night with, she has to fight them and lose (reliving the rape all over again).

I'm wondering if the entity was more along the lines of an anger/rape demon, that is turning Sonja into its avatar. She either gets angry and kills, or fights and loses in order to have sex. I'm planning on having that concept in a D&D game I run, where they have to deal with the blessing/curse (if she has sex freely, she loses her combat abilities) and change it.

The Scholar/sorcerer/priest would try the following ideas as off-hand suggestions:
1) Sonja is allowed to have sex and any man that she chooses to have sex with her will have a wonderful time.
2) If a man rapes her, he will be dead within a year.

The above would be worthless though, as they are true inherently. (I.e. the entity would freely agree to them, as it would be giving up nothing in return.)

The final change would be as following:
1) Red Sonja can have sex freely.
2) If Sonja is fighting a man that raped a woman within the past year (or less time so it isn't on 24/7), she gets a bonus to attack and damage rolls against him.
3) If Red Sonja witnesses a rape, she has to intervene immediately, or kill the man within one week. If she doesn't, she loses her combat advantage for one month. Finding the woman raped and getting her forgiveness will reduce this by half the remaining time.
4) She is harder to hit in combat
5) She can survive more extremes of weather (explaining her chainmail bikini)
6) If using where she rolls for hit points, she will always get the upper half (so if she rolls D8 normally, she gets 4+d4 instead).

To me this would be a better 'curse' for her. She is required to prevent something horrible from happening to other women. However, when she attacks men who rape, she can hit them more accurately, and inflict more damage as well. She is harder to hit, can handle extremes of weather better, and will be able to stand more damage than others. Oh, and she can choose to have sex, instead of being restricted to a form of rape.

Still, I'll bet there are things I am missing. What do you constructively suggest I change (either below, or via PM)?

That seems reasonable, apart from it seems to be implying the only rape that occurs is Man on Woman.

I was effectively paid for doing nothing for a good part of yesterday. Working at a retail PC repair shop which happens to be a two-man operation, I was left to man the shop for almost the whole working day while the shop owner was running some errands. He actually leaves me alone like that quite often but usually not for so long - and with so little work to be done. So, for a good portion of the 8 1/2 hour day I was browsing idly on my laptop with little else to do. Well, since I'm paid hourly it's more pay for the week anyway! It's not always one gets rewarded for boredom.

After messing with belts that keep breaking I'm trying a better made belt from Amazon. I'm currently wearing a piece of crap from a local store which is in tatters, not a month after purchase. Hopefully this one holds up better; it should be convenient and comfortable at least, being elastic and able to be closed anywhere (not depending on pre-cut holes).

Buy a single piece of heavy leather belt, no bonding or stitching, I've had the same belt for 10 years.

That's what mine is; it has pairs of holes every inch, but otherwise, it's just leather with a buckle at one end.

Also can be used to give someone "the lashes".

Same, here. Belts don't have to be too complex, methinks. ;)

The only problem with a belt that's unstitched leather is that it looks like a piece of unstitched leather.

Well, hope you can get to see it, Tindarin. :) I've heard good things about it.
