The Name of the Doctor
Kinda surprised this one isn't up...
So, thoughts? I'm hoping River's gone for good. Also, Clara pointing out which TARDIS to take? Bullshit!

Wasn't overly impressed, but I love anything with Strax in it. Couldn't agree more with him about River Song and conference calls.

Wonder why Seafort didn't start this thread? Did he give up?

Mea culpa. I was busy on Saturday, so I didn't have time to watch it - I only caught up on iPlayer yesterday.Nutso wrote:Wonder why Seafort didn't start this thread? Did he give up?
As for the episode, I wasn't too impressed, although that's partially because I'm never keen on rating two-parters until they're over, even when they're as clearly distinct as this and the 50th anniversary special.

AH, hope you got all your stuff done.
And I wasn't too impressed either. Clara... she doesn't grab me at all. She's there... and that's it for me.

Aye. Of the new companions she definitely comes in the middle-to-lower area of the table. Inoffensive, but nothing special.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:And I wasn't too impressed either. Clara... she doesn't grab me at all. She's there... and that's it for me.

Re: The Name of the Doctor
It's not the worst thing that can be said... but not the best, either. Still for Clara, could be worse.
Re: The Name of the Doctor
This one was interesting but not the best season finale of the show. To be honest a rather under whelming season overall

Re: The Name of the Doctor
It's just Clara and The Doctor meshed so quickly. It was faster than I did to her. If the previous appearances of Clara/Oswin/Governess/Chambermaid were supposed to be character development of Clara, the Doctor's current Companion, that development flew over my head. Her and The Doctor's chemistry feels forced. And speaking of forced, Clara is the one who made the Doctor choose this TARDIS?! So without her, none of this would be happening? Gimme a fucking break, fer chrissakes!
How about The Doctor went into another TARDIS, saw the smoking remains of the Companion who will become Adric, walked out and chose the TARDIS we know. And since we know the TARDIS chose him, it is the TARDIS who fetched the wretched, smoking remains of Adric and put him in the other TARDIS. And so Adric, most hated of Companions, is responsible for The Doctor as we know and love him.

Re: The Name of the Doctor
I think peoples problems with Clara stem from the fact that the doctor didn't really trust her and couldn't understand how she kept appearing in his timeline. Now that that is all explained by this episode I think he will get on with her a lot better. That should make their interactions a little less jarring.

I wonder if the TARDIS will like her more.
