Re: Star Trek Online (F2P)
I haven't really paid much attention to the story lines, somewhat boring without others to game with. For solo action I prefer the random fleet actions. The Romulan plasma torps are hard hitting but slow, just deselect your target and shoot them down. They take about 30 seconds to refresh so you have a good bit of time to slam them in return.

Re: Star Trek Online (F2P)
If you've got a torpedo spread ability the torps get easy to deal with. Target a central on and fire your spread. The AOE damage usually takes out most of the plasma torps.

Only problem with that is it wastes your Torp volley, you're honestly better off letting your energy weapons do the work.

My tactic is to go in close, lock on tractor and hammer them with massive dps. If they manage a salvo I'm buggered at that range.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Re: Star Trek Online (F2P)
Depends on your range. If you're in close you don't have the time to cycle through them and target each torp individually. Not to mention they aren't easy to hit. With the +10% accuracy passive trait plus another [ACC] on my weapons I still regularly miss torpedoes and fighters. If their shields are still up or there's not a big group to be shooting at I don't really think it's a waste to use your torp spread on them.Deepcrush wrote:Only problem with that is it wastes your Torp volley, you're honestly better off letting your energy weapons do the work.

One thing to note, even on normal difficulty, there is a Reman Warbird during the Romulan mission arc that is very difficult to take down even with high level gear. key thin is maneuverability. Stay to the side of the Warbirds, as then their torps and cannons cant wipe you out.

Yeah I come in max impulse on the side, lock on tractor, activate damage+ abilites and pound them, quite often I'm so close he explosion hits me. Reverse is painfully slow sometimes.

Oh and don't reverse for too long, it will drain your systems down to 10% power.

The Hirogen are hard as well. The latter levels really pack a punch.

If you are trying to rush someone who has a high level AoE then you need to be within 1km so that even if they take you out you're core breach takes them with you.

Just refitted my BoP, all Plasma weapons. Heavy cannons to the front with 360 turrets to the aft. With weapons boost I run at 125 pts weapons setting for 15 seconds for 4 plasma weapons and a PTL.

Yep, pretty much the best way to run that thing... it also puts out stupid levels of damage with the turret rapid fire ability.Deepcrush wrote:Just refitted my BoP, all Plasma weapons. My engineers ability to reinforce shields with enemy weapons power is a blessing against both the hirogen and the d'deridex.Deepcrush wrote:Torp hit and runs are your friends against them.Teaos wrote:The Hirogen are hard as well. The latter levels really pack a punch.
