No, you should be able to join right in unless something's changed.

Re: Star Trek Online (F2P)
Will be online tonight so maybe we can get a few people together and run some missions.
As to weapons, QTLs are your saving grace. Burst options and such will be good upgrades to look into.

Oh, and just a quick tip, projectile weapons, torpedoes and mines, do huge damage against hulls, but very little against shields. Even if you like torps a lot you still need some beams for wearing down shields.

Re: Star Trek Online (F2P)
I have a 3:1 set for my weapons. Three beams both forward and aft with a single TL forward and aft. Though if you are an escort you can go with a 2:2 set and fair pretty well.

Re: Star Trek Online (F2P)
You get a free ship at levels 10, 20, 30 and 40. My advice is to try out one of each type at 10 through 30. Take a Science vessel (I recommend the level 10 grab a Nova), take an escort (Akira at 20), and crusier (Galaxy at 30). Then at 40 think long and hard about what style you preferred because that's the last free ship you get.

Okay I installed and went to log in, but now my internet is funky saying something about the DNS not connecting. Any idea if its related or just random? I've had this problem before so I'm not sure if its just coincedence. I dont know why it would be the game, I downloaded it from the site and then just went to log in like normal.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Likely just random, I've had problems like that for any number of games. Like the firewall is on its period.

I keep searching for you guys and the fleet but it always comes up as empty results?

I'm deepcrush as always so just look for that name. Shouldn't be too hard.

Well I unlocked the Ambassador from the 3yr anniversary special and finally made it past the Orions.

Yeah, the ambassador is pretty nice. Tough to complain for a free ship.

Been in a few battles, God I hate fights and BoPs, bitches to hit... I much prefer slugging matches with Neg Varghs and cruisers.
