Yes, that's what we've got but our upload is capped at 2Mb/s and the download at 40Mb/s. It's probably capable of more but for £20/month that's all they provide.Captain Picard's Hair wrote:Verizon "FiOS." It's a fiber optic connection (literally Fiber Optic System). The great thing is, in addition to being (much) faster than the "standard" Time Warner Cable in the area (roughly 10 d/l, 0.5 u/l) FiOS it's cheaper. With the triple package (Internet, digital HDTV with three boxes and digital phone) the whole service comes to comfortably under $200 a month after all the fees and whatnot. (I'd have to check the bill to be more precise but Time Warner was comfortably north of $200 all totaled). We're happy we switched.IanKennedy wrote:That's pretty good. That's some nice hookup you've got there at work though!

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Just got a letter from Princess Cruises (the cruise line we go with). I entered a photo competition a few months back and they've chosen one of my pictures! Out of 57,000 entries they've chosen 1,000 to be printed, framed and shown on the ship. This is mine:
and here's the 1,000 chosen entries:

Yes, yes it is. It's been on here before though. Actually I just sold the camera body in that shot, I still have the lens. I'm the replacing body with this:RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Now that is one hell of a camera, Ian! Congrats on getting chosen, too!
The Canon 5D Mark III
Here's a detailed review, if you can't be bothered to read the review the headline is it's one hell of a camera. Just don't look at the price.

Well, good for you to have a passionate interest in photography and enough wealth to pursue it so vigorously!

Sometimes it's good to be old That and having a salary in pounds that's over £1000 for every year I've been alive.Captain Picard's Hair wrote:You know, because of that line I made it a point to look up that price.IanKennedy wrote:The Canon 5D Mark III
