Well, I can't think of a better reason to not be able to watch JPP in the Pro Bowl. :D

No one can deny Eli is Elite now. Took him eight years to reach it but better late than never.

Also CRRRUUUUZZZZZZ!

I can. I don't like him as a QB, and you should hear some of the terrible things my wife says about him. Successful seasons like this don't glorify his ability, they mask his problems (along with those of Coughlin and Gilbride.)

Yeah, the Cruz Missile was in effect. Even without the infinity-per-catch average he had in the Dallas game, 10 receptions in the NFC Championship ain't too shabby.

(BTW, what do you mean "eight years to reach it?" Eli & co. won Super Bowl XLII in 2008.)

He did win in the Super Bowl but really that was because of the defense of the Giants not really Eli.

I think the Eli-haters particularlly hate him because of the what if, if the Giants got Rivers instead of Manning. I think if the Giants somehow went straight to Manning and there was no Rivers, it would be a different story. I do think 2011 Manning is among the top ten QBs in the NFL right now. Don't get me wrong when i said he was elite, I don't rank him being equal to his brother, Brady, Rodgers or Brees. But perhaps maybe the bottom elite.

The Giants have JPP, Tuck and Osi. JPP IMo is as near a perfect replacement for Strahan as possible. The recievers are far better. The sore point, more so than the somewhat weak secondary is the running game.

I do think this is a much more evenly matched Super Bowl. I would even risk saying that the Giants may hold the advantage.

I do that too. But since this practically a rematch from Super Bowl XLII and the Giants are my team, well I will be drinking heavily me thinks.

I don't hate Eli because of the Rivers trade, even though I may think that it wasn't necessary. I dislike Eli because he makes bad decisions, misses his hot reads and checkdowns when pressure is on him, and makes the big plays because of his receivers' ability rather than because he makes great throws. I do think he is cool in the two-minute, but I also have it from a former player who still does Giants charity work and rubs elbows often with current personnel that Eli doesn't have the quintessential air of command and confidence that the great QB's have (like his dad and big brother.)

The running game is funny. The horses have shown that they can produce, but the loss of O'Hara and Seubert has hurt them more than anyone is willing to admit... especially with the Boothe-Baas-Boothe-Baas revolving door at center.

The air of command and confidence I think is who he is really. I mean when was the last time you saw him get pissed. The best you get is a wtf look he gives.

I don't think that is bad thing. Sometimes those looks are even worse than an ass chewing for dropping/not catching the ball.

When I was in the Navy, everyone was ready for an ass chewing. However, the worse ones are the fatherly sit down and talk. Basically saying they are dissappointed in you talking in an even tone. Then you walk away with the feeling that you had just killed the family cat by accident.

But there is a time and a place for both.

Agreed. It just seems that more often than not, Eli's "WTF?" look translates less as, "WTF did you read?" and more as, "WTF is going on? Where am I?"

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a complete hater - I can recognize when a receiver made the wrong read, broke away from where the QB would read a seam, etc., and I know that a pass thrown into a receiver-free area is often not the QB's fault. I just don't buy into the hype - seemingly led by Aikman - the Eli is a QB that deserves to be mentioned in Giants history alongside the likes of Friedman, Chucking Charlie, the Bald Eagle, or Phil... stats be damned.

Won't be able to afford buying a costume for it. When my brother... committed suicide, my mother and i were unable to get a bereavement discount for the flight out to California.

EDIT: It was a week before Thanksgiving, too. A thousand bucks each.
