How old is your son? Could they be migraines? I started getting migraines around 12 yrs. old. I hope they find a cause for them. Also, kudos to him for progressing in the martial arts. Tae kwon do is a good one. Here in Paradise, CA., they have shotokan karate, shorin ryu karate, and kuk sul do, which is another Korean martial art. Every time I think of tae kwon do, I think of Jhoon Rhee and his 100 push-ups in 60 seconds, at 75+ yrs. old. Watch here:

He's 2-1/2. He's never expressed any sign of food allergy; hasn't displayed any nausea, photophobia, unilateralism in the pain, or any other sign of migraine; and they're acute rather than chronic; so I'm tempted to believe the fact that they're related to the concurrent viral bug or symptoms thereof.
My son's
dojang was founded, and is still run, by a master of tae kwon do, hapkido, and various Korean sword arts who is also a doctorate in child psychology; so the toddler classes aren't strictly
tae kwon do but also include principles of hapkido and also teach
ssang jeol bong (nunchaku) and staff techniques - basic tae kwon do
pumsae, but also rolls and upper body close-in techniques (though the priority on kicks comes straight from
tae kwon do itself.)
