The basement at the house I used to live at would flood if you ran the tap too long, Stitch. My empathy to you.
Just got power back. Besides that... meh. I've been through far worse than this.

Most of the campus seems to have a power outage. The surrounding town and my building are fine. One of the on-campus Apartment complexes is being evacuated tonight.

Very odd storm results. I live steps away from the bay and a few more from the ocean, and didn't get anything worse than some downed tree limbs... OK, a lot of limbs. My sister-in-law, sister, and brother-in-law - all of whom live north and inland from me - had flooding and power loss.

And strangely, Vermont got hit almost as hard as the Carolinas. One town has a river where their main street used to be.

At the store I work at, half the store lost power... and the other half remained brightly lit. Go fig.

The hurricane forced my college to close down on Friday and Monday. I have no classes on Tuesday till the 15th. Five day weekend. They could have had the campus open on Friday because the storm didn't start to hit us until late Friday night.

Well, basement is now half taken apart. We were planning on doing it anyway, so now we are just a week early. Remodeling... yay.
Also, oddly, north of us at main street Poughkeepsie, they lost power Monday afternoon, and their projected return to power time is Sunday.

Well, I ventured into the crawlspace this evening. Good news - no standing water! Bad news - damp, and will probably require a vapor barrier or capsule and exhaust system or dehumidifier. At least the $5k I spent 9 years ago on a new sump, frenched floor, and jet pump were worth it.

Well, that's good, Mikey. No damage around my house. A few tiny branches here and there, but weathered it nicely.

Yes, but no power outlets for me to plug into so I was stuck with just the ipod. Now that I have power again I'm going to work on the CoC sheet. I'll just have to be a late joiner.Mikey wrote:Bob Evans has WiFi?

There are still three other characters left to show up, between myself and Leia, so you've got some time.
