Hardly. Ace firing an RPG is no more or less effective than any of the Doctor's other companions doing so. The difference is that Ace is more likely than average to actually pick the damn thing up and fire it.

As for the first picture, I'd very much like to know what idiot's idea it was to glue an RPG round onto an SLR. It looks stupid.

I think it's supposed to be a BBC F/X version of a rifle grenade... i.e., "tape something (very) vaguely like what we're looking for to something else, and pray nobody decently well-informed is watching."

Dude...it was a joke. The emoticon, there? Yes, I know if Sarah Jane or Jamie or Amy picked it up and pulled the trigger, it would blow the Dalek up just fine. Ace is simply one of the memetic badasses of Doctor Who.
