Torchwood 4x01: Miracle Day
So, new series starts in three hours and Captain Scarlet's going across the pond. Should be interesting to see how they cover the interim.

Just watched it ( had it sky+'d). Jack is cool... oh wait is he as cool as he always was??? I loved the references to the 456. foreshadowing who the enemy is?

I don't think so - just back references to remind people a) what happened to Torchwood, and b) as a standard point of reference for serious shit.
Decent start, and I wonder whether whatever's happening is aimed at the human race in general or at Jack in particular, with everyone else's apparent immortality simply being a side effect. Alternatively, the culprits might be whoever constructed the immortality gloves from the first two series.
And this (3:10) is why you shouldn't conflate English and British.

I was going to watch this, then I saw that Captain Jack is still on the show.

So far watched 3 eps, not overly excited. Best part was when the paedo got a a kicken by the cops
in a back ally. No one can die so they give him a real proper kicken, except the face.

It does not have the feel of Torchwood. Whether it stays in the DVR queue will depend on each episode. Je "You keep making that joke" type comments from the new people when Jack says something about being alive so long are already getting old.

It doesn't have the grab factor that Children of Earth had, for sure. I think the pacing is suffering from spreading the story over ten episodes. Still, I'm sticking with it. I am curious to see what the answer is.
