What's the latest in people's lives?

I don't really mind if they cut the screen time because of budget. I also didn't mind Sam so much in the second movie and I liked him in the third.

What I mind in the first is watching the Autobots go from heroes to a group that can't win a fight against the local Federal Office Agents and needs help from what amounts to a platoon of SWAT and a Squad of Army Rangers to win a fight.

Second was the use of NEST. The humans are largely fodder in the service which makes no sense with the Autobots around. Even more so as in the first and third films humans prove fairly effective.

Sweden?! Really, Sweden? The only thing worse than watching the U.S. lose to Sweden was the realization that the Swedish women's soccer team - a term that holds so much promise - looked like... well, like a bunch of professional women's soccer players.

I would say worth the watch, it's a good movie, IMO it's the second best of the X-men movies, after the first one, which I liked a little bit more.

I saw it. It was good. It does tie in with the previous movies more so than you would think. I love the 'one' cameo.

It does bug me more on my history side of things to see a Iowa class battleship in the Cuban missile crisis.

I saw it. It was good. It does tie in with the previous movies more so than you would think. I love the 'one' cameo.

Loved that cameo too; for me it was the single most memorable moment of the movie. Other then the *ahem* historical inaccuracies, the movie was pretty good. I think it's my fav X-Men movie so far.

Holy hopping snot, what a game. US beats Brazil 2(5) - 2(3) in 122' after having to beat the officiating first and playing with 10 on their side fro 65' on. The call-back goal/save and red card were bad enough... but how do you justify giving a yellow card when you award a free kick to the carded players side? Well, on to France Wednesday.

As I've been absent for so long (apologies - rather busy!), I thought I'd give an update...

I've just finished the 3rd year of my degree in physics and am effectively qualified to bacherlor level. In my latest exams I managed the equivalent of a 1st, but thanks to my other ones I'm on an upper-second. Drink (which I have partly curtailed) may have had some adverse effects there!

Anyway I have been offered a one year internship working at a large military defence contractor in a specialised area within missile design. I can't go into too much detail as I have had to sign a whole load of official secrets act papers. So I'm packing up and moving to this job in september while on a sort of gap year from uni. Then, once that is done, I'm coming back to university to finish my masters; in which I'm rather optimistically aiming for a 1st, or at least an upper 2nd. Hopefully an offer of permanent employment from this company follows where the salary will nearly double: most of their graduate employees come from former interns so that's why I felt the need to take the year out (which I was actually pretty reluctant to do).

Anyway, there we go: I'm packing up my flat at the moment and hiring a van for a rather long term excursion - this job being 200 miles from uni!

Edit: Reading that back it sounds like I'm talking about some James Bond style stuff... Well, it's not - but we do need those fancy security passes hanging round our necks, and I really can call myself a rocket scientist!

Monday was a boring day, so in a bout of desperation for some entertainment I invited a friend of mine to go with me to the cinema. As we exited the cinema I sw there was ONE ticket left for a Harry Potter Marathon. I proposed she would go, but when she declined, I raced to the register to claim the very LAST ticket for that marathon. And so it happened that I basically lived/camped in the cinema with 300 dedicated potter fans in a pitched battle to defeat darkness, evil, 8 films and sleep. 27 hours later, that ordeal was completed and now I am the proud owner of several hours of sleep shortage.
