Guiseppe - ask yourself this: would it bother me if the results changed to trend toward my own preference rather than away from it? I suspect the answer would be "not so much." In that case, there's nothing about which to complain.

Thanks for replying to an issue with a non-argument; questioning someone's motives for raising an issue won't make the issue go away (if it does indeed exist). I've been voting on DITL for a long time; and I've had this account for quite some time too. If votes not going "my way" were what's bothering me, I probably would've started pestering you a long time ago. Probably got banned by now if I did, you know...

It's just that I've noticed some strange changes in the votes a few times in recent weeks and I thought I'd inform someone; if someone should care that is. At least remove multiple voting; surely if there's not much wrong with the current system, such a small measure won't hurt anyone. If I recall correctly the first ever poll on DITL was plagued by multiple voting. With multiple voting still allowed you'd expect some might still do it; or perhaps no one cares. It seems to me like it's the latter.

It was disallowed, it's just that when Ian moved the server over to the new one (helped the site move a lot faster in all respects) a lot of things began not working correctly and he hasn't had the time to fix them fully. I'm pretty sure that this is one of those issues that he had not had the time to fix yet.
Mods correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Giuseppe - don't get defensive. The means to change the way the poll works are beyond me, so my advice to you was limited to something on which I can advise you. Don't want it, don't take it, but that's all it is.

Mikey - I wasn't getting defensive if that was the impression I gave off. But it doesn't really matter; the only thing that I cared about coming here was having a fair poll, where you can't vote multiple times. I hope I haven't stepped on anyone's toes.

Now that I've made a habit of dropping by the forum, I might actually be around more
