What's the latest in people's lives?
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Hope you feel better soon Nick.
So today I went for an eye test for effectively the first time in my life ( I did go once as a child but I don't really remember it). It was very odd, the lady kept shining lights in my eyes. Turns out my eyesight is good but I'm slightly short sighted in my left eye, which got me excited because I thought that would mean I would get to wear a monocle. Alas I didn't, which is just as well as all the glasses were bloody expensive.

Besides, NHS probably won't cover the top hat and pencil moustache.

What's the point in having an NHS at all if it won't cover a top hat dammit!

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
My neighbor who lives two floors up from me got sloshed the night before last, and kept me up all night yelling threw my window for me to open the door. Then the started pulling out the wooden jalousy slats on it. I physically pushed him down the hall towards the elevators, so the laid down in front of the bedroom door and under my window and started yelling and singing. Cops took an hour to get there because I told them in was important but not an emergency. I didn't press charges to avoid the paperwork, and got like 2 and a half hours sleep.
Yesterday, I left work at exactly four, went home, laid down with a headache, made a phonecall, and next thing I know, heard my alarm clock buzzing.
Wow.

You were a bit more generous than I probably would have been.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

I would have pressed the charges.

Watching Toy Story with my daughter today, I thought to myself how much 'Sid' looks like Jason Cory Haim

Not reuping again, seperating and going to college. They have me in the Transient Personnel Unit at Bangor Sub base in Washington state. Should be done here in a week or two and then be on terminal leave until my last day .

Another Earthquake hit Christchurch screwing over the infastructure again...
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Next weekend we have an international blacksmith's festival in my little home town. I must admit I can't wait to see the sparks fly, literally International Forge-in
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!
