The problem with the Klingons is remembering that you can't truly conquer them. Even occupation would be a horrible matter to enforce. The KE as an NPC would create a constant stream of pirates and raiders and regional conflicts in the game.

Alright everyone, thanks for your patience, I've spent the last week deciding what to do with Beta. Tsuki is coming back and will be taking the Jacorn over again. With Kierran's abdication, I've decided to devolve the Klingon Empire into ~11 clan-states that are all at war with each other. I did this for three main reasons: 1) No more Klingon Player, so that we don't just have a GM run empty seat; 2) It'll break up some of the power in the game since the Federation-Klingon Alliance was dominating; 3) it'll give me a way to put some random mishaps into the game without involving the Borg. What I mean by that is this: These are Klingons that have large amounts of firepower, an inability to sustain that firepower for long, and a lot of complete uncaring-ness about anyone else. A Lot of Klingons HATE the Romulans, Some of them Hate the Federation, as well as the Cardassians, Breen and so on. So, for as long as the Clans are in a state of civil war, there will be a random chance that they might attack you, might be to get funds, might be to get resources, maybe because they're going to have to destroy the ships anyway and they prefer to go down fighting. You can attack them back, there's nothing special about them, if you know who it is....or even if you don't, pick one clan at random and hope the war doesn't unify the Klingon whole.

Then you also have the option of WILLINGLY supplying certain clans with resources, funds, and ships, maybe even loaning a shipyard to a clan that doesn't have one. Afterall there's nothing like a Klingon Chancellor that owes you one.

Anyway, I should be finishing up and sending turns out today, a new map and news tonight

Hah, Sorry for creating a whole lot of work for you

Still, I'm 1) glad I went down after a long time of being stabbed and whatnot. Proper Klingon to the last. And I'm glad that 2) The collapse of the struggling empire is adding a very big new dynamic to the game.

I'm gonna need a short extension on my due date. We're in re-certification training all week and I've got very little time to coordinate everything I'm trying to do.

Me too. I'll be out of town and without internet access all weekend, and I won't have enough time to get things together the next two days...

Sorry, running on about 5 hours of sleep a night for the past 10 days. A bit strung out.
