Re: I <3 modern technology
To be fair to iPhones, I have seen some really bad ones on Android phones too. But people who see the ridiculous ones have to realize that some of them are because the words are put into the library of words.

The default Android one is...meh, alright. Samsungs is crap, and LG's isnt much better. HTC's is widely regarded as one of the best, which is why I won't buy anything else. I type insanely quickly and the autocorrect is MOSTLY accurate, although there is always a few errors.
Regardless, why dont people just check the message before they send it?

Because they think that electronics are like god and read their minds so they always will be right. And they are idiots.

Re: I <3 modern technology
I personally have never, EVER used autocorrect or predictive text, and I never will.

For bothering to actually type your own words.

Some of those are so hilarious, others I almost feel sorry for the people.
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

I have an iPhone and a Blackberry before that. So, having the autospelling on will sometimes have issues. I never checked, but the Blackberry had an option where you could change add words for autocheck. Don't know if the iPhone has it.

If you send a word it doesn't recognize then it automatically adds it to the word pool......can be annoying as hell if you actually do misspell something.McAvoy wrote:I have an iPhone and a Blackberry before that. In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

HTC keyboards do similar. They autocorrect in a little popup box, and if you genuinely did spell a word correctly and want to add it, you can tap on the original un-corrected word next to it. Works same for emoticons and other items like that. If not, the green highlighted word is what it will correct too. You can also go back and delete any word that you accidentally add to the user dictionary, which is backed up to the SD card.

Sounds like a lot more trouble than just typing your own text.
