I will always remember him as Brother Gilbert.

That's it! That role was on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn't place it.Varthikes wrote:I will always remember him as Brother Gilbert.

My favourite film of his is Brassed Off, not I suspect a film that many from outside of the UK will have seen.

I actually have seen Brassed Off, and quite enjoyed it.

I went and checked out his film history on imdb & his last film listed sounded the most interesting Killing Bono

Why would you suspect that? It was in general release here.IanKennedy wrote:My favourite film of his is Brassed Off, not I suspect a film that many from outside of the UK will have seen.

Because I would have thought that you wouldn't understand a word that was said, let alone the background to the situation.Mikey wrote:Why would you suspect that? Meh, we have Pittsburgh. Same thing.
The only time I've ever needed subtitles for English was while watching part of a Beeb documentary involving old-timers from East Anglia. Even other Brits couldn't understand them.

What Pittsburgh was deliberately shut down for no reason what so ever just so that the Government could make a political point?Mikey wrote:Meh, we have Pittsburgh. Same thing.

Hmm. I thought I put one of these after that statement:
But no, Pittsburgh was not shut down for a political point. It was shut down when the coal ran out.
