Villain PR service
Villains really aren't bad guys (or girls). They just have bad PR. Why just look how noble some of them really are with just the right spin on their story. Can you guess the so-called villain?
The military locked him up after discovering his political past. His attempt to escape earned him and all his friends a one-way ticket to an inhospitable wasteland. After his one true love succumbed there, he set out for vengeance, armed with a machine that creates life.
A boy born into slavery, whose gifts were recognized early on and earned his freedom in order to go on adventures with royalty and sage-warriors from other worlds. Yet his idealism was challenged in the face of a cataclysmic war, and in order to save both the woman he loved and the leader of the legitimate government, was forced to betray his former friends. Now he remains a proud defender of peace and justice, wearing his scars with dignity and living as a symbol of the government's fight to restore order and put down a malignant insurgency.
He's faced an unstoppable alien menace time and time again, and yet he is seldom rewarded for his efforts even though he's a mere human. His many inventions have oftentimes been destroyed by that alien and its inhuman cohorts. His popularity is so great he was even elected to the highest office in the land, only to once again have that monster destroy everything he had worked so hard for.

He was a misuderstood artist - a vegetarian who loved animals, and who became a decorated war hero when his adopted country was forced to defend itself against a hostile encircling alliance. After its defeat and humiliation by its enemies, he swore to rebuild its status and reputation and to humble those who had stabbed it in the back. His drive and determination were supported by those who had led the defence of the nation in its darkest hours, and they appointed him to form the government that would restore its honour.Nickswitz wrote:Or Hitler, I think either one is about equally difficult.

A man dedicated to his country and it's well being, he worked tirelessly to root out the traitors, terrorists, and saboteurs that hindered the government, a government that promoted equality for all it's people. Despite betrayal by those he thought were his allies in a time of war, he lead his people to victory against a monstrous regime. He later stood up to a great military power that was trying to stop his nation from enjoying the right to grow and expand.Tyyr wrote:Alright, you think you've got something going.

Another one
Persecuted through out his life for his race and his religion, he rose to become a great leader and symbol of hope for his people. Many times he struggled to make a home for his kind, only to have each hopeful sanctuary crushed by ruthless military forces or an extremist group of his own people, lead by his former friend, who opposed his dreams. Not one to lead from behind, he personally took to the field of combat many times.

Try this one (and I'm not going to give a clue, even spoilerised ):
They extended the hand of friendship to those they believed to be fellow curious explorers of the universe, but it was knocked aside and they were subjected to a savage, unprovoked attack. They defended themselves, but made repeated efforts to make their enemies understand how they felt and thought, even bestowing great gifts upon some of their enemies, only to have their generosity turned against them. Ultimately, only a single one of their opponents realised the mistake that had been made and chose to join and aid them in their struggle for survival.
