Bah I shouldn't really touch the stuff. But I appreciate the sentiment.

Apparently, there are some parts of Scotland that are -25 degrees! Is that even possible outside of 'the poles' and Siberia!?!?!?

Kelvin.
TLH - Of course it's possible. There's a reason that the Romans named Scotland "Ultima Thule," after all.
Also, why nobody lives there but Scots...

Celsius, we never use fahrenheit anymore. I have to translate any of your American temperature stuff because we're not even really taught about the existence of fahrenheit. Same for most of the imperial measurements, even miles which is ironic since we still use it for distances and speeds.Sonic Glitch wrote:Celsius or Fahrenheit?thelordharry wrote:Apparently, there are some parts of Scotland that are -25 degrees! The coldest part of the UK last night was my living room when I revealed to my wife that I was off down the pub.

I personally thought it was mums car when we tried it out on snow. We know dad's is fine, but mum was petrified her little Chevvy wasn't going to cope. Did admirably, not a single slip until dad left it in second when pulling away by accident. However, it is SO cold.

Well the white fluffy stuff has put an end to our trip to see Teaos in Egypt this week. We were meant to go out yesterday morning and join the boat that night, however, the snow has closed Gatwick airport for two days. That means the boat has sailed without us. They offered to take us out there today and put us up in a hotel for two nights until the boat passed by again on it's way to Cairo. But, we really wanted to see Petra and we've already missed that. It would only leave us two places on the cruise so we cancelled.
The sad news is that means we wont see Teaos, but, the good news is we've now booked a week in the Maldives in a cabin on stilts over the water. Here:

Wow.
Teaos asked about the airport closures the other day. Bummer.

Sorry about your trip, IK - but congrats on the new booking.
BTW, how much snow did you get? You're pretty much even in latitude with Reliant, right? I can't imagine 4" being enough to close an airport.

He's a little above me. by a little I mean...not much.
But you gotta understand as a country we have virtually NO idea how to deal with snow. Either of the airports would have almost NO preparation, NO gritting for runways etc. Southampton airport closed yesterday for example.

Well, I lost my voice. I sound like a frog when I can even make my voice work right now.

One of my best friends died yesterday. She had a good heart, and I miss her already.

My condolences Tsu. 2010 just doesn't seem to want to go your way
