Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Is this for Uni? Theoretically it's possible but its the cost of actually getting out there and rentind accomodation really. With our uni scheme I dont pay a penny to learn it, I only start paying AFTER I earn above £21,000 a year. Which is about what I'd start on as a secondary school teacher (although I'd have to be an LSA or some such to get a job).

We're in about the same boat on that one. Between my knees and now my back, I can't get nearly enough cardio to get in shape. I'm 6' and 195 right now; I lost 5 pounds over the last week, but I imagine they'll be back by the end of today.Mark wrote:Bottom line, I need exercise. I'm 5'11 and weigh 212 lbs. I'm supposed to weigh 185. I carry the extra weight on my belly, which puts added stress (so much PSI per extra pound). The problem lies in the fact that ANY exercise I do (ie walking, running, bike riding, VEEERY light weight training, swimming, and so forth) causes intense pain afterwards, and with my back like that, I can't follow up, thus I can no benefit via repetition. I am doing the BARE minimum right now, and literally walking laps in my swimming pool, which the only thing I get from that is waterlogging.

Dude, you'll eat five pounds in turkey and stuffing alone.
Well, gotta love it. Another year alone for the holidays. My roommate and I are heading up to the NA thanksgiving meeting and dinner. I feel sort of like that guy in Grumpy Old Men, that goes to the VFW every thanksgiving because he's got no family left.
Lucky for me, Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday of all. It seems rather morbid as we celebrate the Indians sharing they're bounty and showing our "forefathers" how to survive the winter, and we thanked them with trying to exterminate them to get them off our land.

Well, I will be ordering a new laptop tomorrow, not because I really need it, but because I would like it for work. So tomorrow I will be ordering it, and probably getting it in a week or two, and then I will be setting it up and transfering everything over, and then I will be selling my old laptop for about 400 so I can pay off Bella who is paying for it in the form of a loan to me...
Here's the laptop

Well, I'm back from another Thanksgiving at the in-laws. Good day - my bro-in-law won his first game as OC in his school's traditional Thanksgiving rivalry, and my mother-in-law went for a smaller turkey this year - she only got a 38.5-lb. bird.

Plus the squash. And potatoes. And sweet potatoes. And candied apples and yams. And the corn. And the sausage stuffing...
Then, the pumpkin pie. And the banana cream pie. And the vanilla cream pie. And the pumpkin cake. And the cheesecake...
As to cook time: 5 am until about 1 pm. Bear in mind that you can't get a bird that size frozen, and this one was gobbling until Tuesday afternoon.

Funny thing is, it was a smaller bird than the last few years.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:So when did the 82nd Airborne show up for the leftovers?

Ouch...
Well, my Black Friday was... not bad. I think. I worked 11 PM Thursday into Friday itself. I think it wasn't bad since I was half-asleep for a lot of it. With two exceptions, it wasn't a bad night overall. The first was at midnight when we had... two registers open due to a scheduling snafu. second one was when one of the trailers holding our blitz items, some idiot lost the key to it. Not. Happy.
