Just because you start it doesn't mean the season started.Deepcrush wrote:Fun times for more political talk which means soon to come (as we saw in another thread already) insults!
One doesn't make a trend.

Lol...I gotta escape from work to go and vote today. My boss hates that I actually go and vote on election day. I'm the only one in my office who votes.

Re: The US Mid-Term Election Thread
All I have to say on the matter is that I saw an ad for a local senatorial race yesterday, for a candidate who vowed to "lower tax, cut spending - and bolster Medicare and Social Security." Yes, the candidate said that with a straight face.

Well, you know, "technically" (I use that term loosely), Healthcare and Social Security is supposed to be self-funding and independant of taxes. You may have a healthcare deduction from your paycheck that isn't related to taxes.Mikey wrote:All I have to say on the matter is that I saw an ad for a local senatorial race yesterday, for a candidate who vowed to "lower tax, cut spending - and bolster Medicare and Social Security." So, he's technically honest about it.

The problem is that if you cut out all the money going into the fund, then you can't spend more without running out.

But the money going into the fund, technically, isn't a tax.Deepcrush wrote:The problem is that if you cut out all the money going into the fund, then you can't spend more without running out.
It's a contribution.
I know, little solace.

Doesn't matter, if you don't have money in the fund to start with then you can't spend it.
