Sounds like it was before my time, then, unless it was the one that was also ported to Sega's 32x Genesis expansion thingy.

Probably, Jordanis. It was an early-80's arcade game, but kicked butt all the same. Unless we're talking about XWA, in which case I've never played that one. And therefore everyone can ignore what I'm babbling about. :p

My old ass knows exactly the one. It used vectors rahter than pixels, like the old Vectrex console (man, I AM old!) And you started flying an X-wing on the final attack run on the DS from ANH. That was when arcade games cost only on quarter, and dinosaurs roamed the earth...

Again just discovered topic.

My least most despised vessel of all would be from a Game called Freelancer. The Rheinland Battleship was the Ugliest pile of **** ever! It just looks like a Bulk cargo cruiser's Cargo container!

Not the prettiest ship I've ever seen, I'll admit. Thanks, too.

Not a particularly pleasant ship to look at, but this thread was meant more for pathetic ship designs or concepts. That one is damn ugly, but it looks like a fairly okay design.

Apart from the fact that there was no logic in the design at all. Plus my Grandmothers 1959 Morris Minor could traverse space faster.

From a combat perspective, the design actualy looks fair enough. Not great, but not too bad.

The weapons were okay. Several high energy Plasma turrets and a couple of missile turrets. But all Capital vessels in Freelancer have no shields so..

I gotta mention the starfort from WH40k. I'm OK with the Gothic look of Imperial ship designs, but this is carrying it just a bit too far. I mean, the damn things are just spaceborne versions of the Cathedral of Notre Dame, complete with rectories and a facade with rosette windows!

Oh, and they have to be towed. That's pretty dumb too.
