I can draw romulan ships to an extent. And places like Deviant art are a haven for Romulan designs.

I like it until you get to that big hooked beak. I like the Norexan's styling for that.
The problem I'm having is evolving large scale Cardassian ships from the Galor style. Doesn't help that the lazy ass FX weinnies just stuck a coffin on top of the Galor and called it a Keldon. No real evolution to use as a general guide.

Alter the degree of the angles, add some wings, fins, or a tier'd weapons pod.

Re: Alpha Star Trek Sim discussion
That's sort of what I've already done.
The issue is when you look at the Enterprise from Nil to E, and the Federation as a whole there is a very clear evolution in the design. Increased Z axis compression, some y axis compression, eliptical primary hulls, you can sort of see where the next generation is going and you can look at a Federation ship and pinpoint the era its from. For Cardassia you've got a single design... so where does it evolve?

...well if that's not a visual abortion I don't know what it.
Re: Alpha Star Trek Sim discussion
Almost all the races we've seem are going to a more streamlined effect OR a more complicated look. Cardassians, I'd imagine would keep the same basic design, as it ties into one of their deities, but otherwise...........
I mean, the dreadnaught had a MUCH different design as previously seen, and the Heikeiki was pretty different too.

I'm trying to incorporate some of the Hideki's style, like the croissant shaped saucer, into the larger ships. The big thing is that what we have seen of Cardassian ships are very simple designs. Not a lot of extraneous crap hanging off them. Very solid.

Mark, I would figure your ships here would be a near blend of Federation and Cardassian designs given how heavily they have influenced you. Also you have Ferengi and Ferengi-Gorn designed ships in your fleet. And Tueri ships....And new Cardassian Ships....come to think of it your navy is going to look ugly as hell.

Flying saucers, Gorn blocks, Cardassian spades, Turei....well...I can only think of sex toys. Trust me.

Bahh.....figure a space manta ray, maybe adding Starfleet bussard collectors and nacells. And Federation phaser arrays, maybe. Of course, I've got no idea what the Prefect class (aka Profit) class looks like, and that's one of the mainstays of my fleet, lol.

Re: Alpha Star Trek Sim discussion
What of the economic/prduction upgrades effect ship R&D... do all of the ship/weapon/defense effect it, or only ship design?

defense is procurement
weapons is component and special R&D
ship is ship r&D
weapons is component and special R&D
ship is ship r&D
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
