Your Birmingham is the tornado capital of the world? I didn't know trailer parks were that common over there.

Ok, so basically this girl likes me, she really likes me, I'm not entirely sure why, but mine is not to ask. This isn't so awkward, I kind of like her and it's all well and good, I don't want to date, especially with starting the semester, and all the stress, all well and good again. But it just so happens that my best friend there also really likes her, but she doesn't like him back. So she knows he likes her, he knows she doesn't, and I feel awkwardly stuck in the middle of it because of the fact that I am liked by her and like her slightly. So basically the entire time in the lounge I was unsure if he knew we liked each other, I've known he liked her for weeks, and honestly I think that they would be a good couple, she doesn't, so basically I felt that if he knew without knowing the whole story he would get really pissed at me and then if he did know the whole story, he may not believe me, etc. etc. basically it became insanely awkward for her, me and possibly him.

And apparently he no longer likes her, which makes it less awkward, much much less awkward.

Just go for it. If its to rough you can always call it off but if you don't do anything you might miss her.

That's not the problem, I like her, but I'm not looking to go for it, I like her, it's not awkward anymore because of the fact that he no longer likes her, or claims so, I don't mind it anymore, we're on good terms, but we aren't planning on dating, anytime soon, if ever.

It was just awkward because of the fact that he liked her, and she liked me, and I liked her, and he was a good friend.

One's love trouble is one's problem. It's nice for you to feel bad for your buddy, but you shouldn't feel responsible for the akwardness that arisen out of that situation. She made her choice, you made yours, and there is nothing more to it.

Either your friend will one day manage to get her, maybe he will get tired of waiting and move on with his love life. Maybe your lady friend will chose him, or you will change your mind.

In the meanwhile, don't let yourself be tortured because you made your choice and other people have feeling. If you feel akward about it, they certainly won't feel better about it either. Just don't put the metaphorical finger in the emotional wound. If you all move on with your lives, it's gonna be a lot better for everybody.

Please please please don't take this the wrong way, but that sounds seriously like some eigth drama, my man. How is it this is happening to you as a freshman in collage????

By the way, if you don't feel up for a relationship, don't pursue one. These things get away from us WAY too easily.

Sadly, this is true.

Yup, that's essentially where I stand.

You are a freshman in college. If you don't care that much about her hit it and quit it. It will reduce your stress level and solve the problem. She will go away and stop bugging you, you will work out some of your anxiety on her and everyone can go onto the next silly thing.

I entirely disagree with the above statement.

I'm slightly interested in your POV Tsu, just because I like different viewpoints.

I can see Big's statement, however, I find the general attitude of "oh here little boy, its a silly thing have a sweetie" ridiculously condescending. yes, Nick is...16 i think? edging toward 17? But that no less diminishes the feelings he has. Besides, from a social point of view, from what I can understand (from dads work colleagues, and himself) a lot of "teens" mature way younger than they did 20 or even 10 years ago (be that right or wrong). I don't mean mature enough as in to manage a mortgage, mature enough to take careers seriously etc. but Emotionally mature.

If you care about her, there's really nothing wrong with having sex with her; sex is the highest expression of feelings for another person you can have. I've had sex with several of my friends, and it only made our bond stronger.

Doing it for stress relief? Absurd. Go hit the gym, then get some kleenex if that's your goal. Sleeping with someone you don't have feelings for will just muddy the situation up more.
