My aunt Carol passed away this morning in Tennessee. Luckily, we had a number of family and friends to stay with her until the end. Even her sister from Hilo Hawaii was there.

I'm told she passed quietly, thanks be to God for that much.

Ah, hell. Sorry to hear that, man.

Same here. At least she went peacefully, with family nearby.

The doc called me about 4:15 pm local, and said everything went swimmingly. It was rather invasive for a laproscopic procedure, but she should be home by Saturday - perhaps even tomorrow.

Well, it's been an odd stretch. My wife was certain she was going to go paws-up on the table, because our fam had been having too much good luck lately - my little bro-in-law won his first game as offensive coordinator of the high school at which he works, my three nephews all won their first football games of the season, my one niece won her first game as captain of her field hockey squad, my other niece (a snare drummer) won the drum caption at her first band competition of the season, the Giants won their opener, RU won its first two, and one of my sisters-in-law got promoted.

Well, the surgery went just fine, and my in-laws came down that evening to babysit while I went to back-to-school night at my daughter's elementary school. I got in the car to return home just in time to get my mother-in-law's call to tell me to hurry, because there was a tornado at their home.

A tornado, in Central f***ing Jersey.

Nice Job to her! If I may ask, do you know what their show is?

At least they don't live in the tornado capital of the world.

Birmingham, and not the one in Alabama.
