Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
At this time, we do not. However we are dispatching scouting teams every 2 months as they get closer to better asses their numbers and that they are indeed headed for us.
I am also announcing that the Federation Fleet will be going to full activity across all zones so that we may supply a fuller fighting force to the wormhole, and/or, be ready should they make it through.

Agreed. The Breen fleet will now mobilize as well; do not take alarm at the upswing in activity. We merely wish to have all available forces ready in case they are needed.

The Gorn Hegemony, on behalf of the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union, would like to announce that in light of the oncoming Hur'Q threat, all forces of the Interstellar Security Alliance will begin operating in a state of Yellow-alert. Thank you

The Sheliak has to question all of this, if an imminent threat is to come through the wormhole, why not simply collapse it. We understand the significance of this wormhole and the wish to keep it open, but with that large of a threat, we wish to understand if this is an option, and if so what is needed to implement it.

The Klingon Empire agrees with the Sheliak, closing the wormhole should be a priority.

Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
All options were being considered by the leadership during discussion. One thing that we must keep in mind however is that the Hur'q are the ones who constructed the wormhole. Therefore we cannot discount them simply reopening the wormhole when they arrive. If this were to happen it would place the people of this Quadrant at a much greater risk than simply keeping it open, scouting them, and engaging them on our terms. As this is said, it is also impossible to know how they open these wormholes, and if they would indeed be able to reopen it.
Therefore, last night in the early hours of the morning the Commander of the ABTF, after consulting with his second officers, made the official recommendation that the best way to keep the quadrant safe was the collapse of the wormhole. He submitted this recommendation both to my office, and to the office of the executive of the Gorn Hegemony who now controls the wormhole and it's fate. It was with little deliberation it seems that the Executive replied in the affirmative. We will be collapsing the wormhole this year before the Hur'q arrive.
With the collapse of the wormhole, the ABTF will also come to an end, as it will no longer serve a purpose. Ships being diverted to the ABTF as we speak will be sent back, and should be recalled. Ships currently in the taskforce shall serve out the last year of the Forces existence and then will be released back to national command. These forces will remain not just to observe protocol, but also to be ready should there by any signs the wormhole is being reopened from the other side.

The Vanguard Flotilla's ships will be withdrawn to our borders, but we must notify the races adjacent to us that our fleet shall be mobilised on our borders. This is not an act pre-empting agression, it is merely to secure our borders.

We believe that turning around the ABTF ships is a premature move. Let us make sure that we CAN close the wormhole first, that they don't open another second, and THEN disband the ABTF fleet.

The Gorn Hegemony agrees. In the event the Hur'q manage to reopen the current wormhole, or construct a new one, we will be unable to hold them back on our own.

Very well. should the fleet commander allow we will divert the ships. Since Most of our fleet Is In reserve the vanguard flotilla will only be mustering a percentage of our current deployments.

Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
The ABTF was not to be shut down for another year, simply the reinforcements currently en-route sent home. I did this because the scientific council is very confident that the Hur'q will not be able to open up the wormhole again, at least not to this exact point. Any single-point wormhole opening drive would be difficult if not impossible to aim. If I wasn't confident that this would stop the Hur'q I would not be taking this course of action.
However, if the National Commanders feel this strongly about it, the ABTF will accept such reinforcements until the wormhole is collapsed. After that, no forces shall be allowed into the Clok'cha system.

Re: Alpha SIM IC Thread
In light of this we will reduce the task force we are sending to 50 of our older destroyers. That way we may still support, but it is not as costly for a potentially unnecessary action.

* a general unsecured message broadcast to all powers *
As chief executive of the Romulan Star Confederation, I am here to bear a message to the quadrant. One that may help to shape a brighter future, help to alleviate some of the great tension that has gripped this quadrant for a number of years now. I come to announce the third alliance.
The Neutral Empires Alliance has been created to ally three powers seeking neutrality and peace in our time. The Romulan Star Confederation serves as its figurehead, it's galactic voice. The Sheliak Corperation, and the Turei Star Empire have also signed the document and allied themselves to the causes of harmony.
The ISA and the Coalition have divided the quadrant amongst themselves, cutting off the minor empires from one another and driving this quadrant onward toward violence and conflict not seen since the Dominion War. This is no fault of theirs, but their polar opposite ideologies have placed them at each others throats. We have said no to all this antagonism.
The Neutral Empires Alliance strives for equality and harmony among its members. We wish our worlds to be a safe haven for those seeking to escape the opposing nations. Our military doctrine is designed to be flexible, and we only fight in the event of attack. We have no interest in conflict, but in mediation and peaceful coexistence.
We do not mean to further divide the galaxy, but to fortify our commitment to neutrality, and to one another.
If anyone desires further information, please feel free to contact the Romulan Star Confederation.
