The problem is that the border is just too long to secure. You're never going to be able to throw enough men, material, and money at this problem to fix it. Now if you want to deploy the Guard to some of the areas where the worst of it goes on or to help back up local law enforcement where there's issues with Mexican drug cartels that's fine. Illegal immigration won't be fixed by trying to close the border off though. People crossing the border illegally isn't the root problem, it's just a symptom.Deepcrush wrote:However, I just don't have a problem with the National Guard helping on the Border. It would add to border protection, services required would be a nice employment boost and it would for field training for troops who may have to go to combat.

Then thats what you should have said the first time around rather then yelling at someone for having a different idea. Blasting Solka for being a dumbass in the Neutral Zone thread is all fair because he's being one. Blasting some new guy to the forum who has an idea that he even admitted would only 'mitigate' the issue isn't fair.Tyyr wrote:The problem is that the border is just too long to secure. One, I didn't yell. Two, I explained why it was a stupid idea which really should have been obvious from the get go if you've got any concept of the scale of the border and just how difficult it is to stop individuals from getting through if their only goal is to cross that imaginary line. It was no more a valid idea than stacking up phone books to get to the moon is.Deepcrush wrote:Then thats what you should have said the first time around rather then yelling at someone for having a different idea. No, you didn't yell... you typed it and you sounded like a total dick for it. Even I know you don't just flame people because you're in a bad mood.Tyyr wrote:One, I didn't yell. Next time I'm in a bad mood while posting I'll keep that in mind.Deepcrush wrote:No, you didn't yell... you typed it and you sounded like a total dick for it. Even I know you don't just flame people because you're in a bad mood.
It was a stupid idea and I treated it as such. Yeah, I was sarcastic about it but so what? Seriously, having you lecture me about my tone is just fucking hilarious.

Nice to see you're little better then spent condom these days. Really, you go into arms over people disagreeing with you and then turn about and do that very same thing. If someone like ME is telling you you're acting like a piece of shit, then you are in fact... a piece of shit.Tyyr wrote:It was a stupid idea and I treated it as such. What disagreement? What up in arms?Deepcrush wrote:Nice to see you're little better then spent condom these days. Really, you go into arms over people disagreeing with you and then turn about and do that very same thing.
He proposed something that is not even physically possible. I didn't disagree with him, reality disagreed with him. I pointed it out. Yeah, I was sarcastic about it but since when has being sarcastic around here been off limits? Up in arms? Please, I called a spade a spade and I didn't beat around the bush about it.
Or your judgment sucks, could be that.If someone like ME is telling you you're acting like a piece of s**t, then you are in fact... a piece of s**t.

I think the irony in this thread just surpassed that of the rest of the forum combined with that little debate.

Thirded.
