I've had it with whiners who think that simply because he didn't turn the original G1 series premiere into a live-action movie, the movies are 'horrendous' and 'not like transformers!"

Generation one was one of the better cartoons of the eighties and still in some respects holds up reasonably well today, but in others it's aged worse than moldy bread left on the countertop. Carbombia anyone???
I see.

The movies are horrendous, but for reasons other than that.

If you're gonna criticize something, criticize it based on its own flaws, not on how it compares to a cartoon series twenty-three years old when the first movie came out. That's all I'm saying.

Indeed. Every fandom has its idiots.

Hell, when the new Trek movie came out there were plenty of people pulling the exact same "ZOMG, my childhood is forever ruined!" line. And from what I've heard the same thing happened when the new Galactica first came out. You get it whenever a remake is launched. Some people just don't like change.

I always find their presumption that we actually give a shit is rather amusing.

This guy wouldn't by any chance happen to have the username "Desert Spiral" or something similar, would he?

The original Transformers, while certainly my favorite, wasn't exactly perfect. Hell, Megatron was a metal transformer that transformed into a handgun????? WTF sense does that make, really? Aside from the obvious mass issues, how useful was that? His transformed self needed to be fired by one of his people.

I can't remember, I'd have to dig through the ST XI forum for the topic. I do remember the utter savaging we gave his review. :D 8)

in retrospect soundwave was the most improbable to me because of the cassette tape transformers that he would pop out, it seemed like he had like 12 in him at once

I think he's talking about Bernd.
