Nope, he's a guest of a 'special' R&D project on mars. Read my late post about two or three pages ago and you'll understand. Its on page 15.

Ummm... why are we looking at old Starfleet ship models? Wasn't it mentioned explicitly that Thrall was having a full-size ship being produced for Blackstar? I had assumed, based on the context, that this would be a freighter/smuggler type - which is the exact type of vessel one would want for a "privateer," for lack of a better term.

I'm not adverse to anything... I'm just saying I thought this point was addressed before we even got to it.

*shrugs*
Dunno. I've no problem going with a unique ship, myself.

I have no problem with a unique ship. But someone will need to design how the outer hull looks.

Maybe DarkOmen is willing to work something up? He's done some requests for myself and a few others before.

We'll also need some stats on the interior. Such as;
Hull dimensions.
Armament.
Size.
Normal crew size, max crew size, and minimum crew size.
Speed and maneuverability.
Defences.
Cargo carrying capacity.
How many shuttles it can hold, and how many bays it has.
Any 'special' features that may have been installed.

EXACTLY! I was reading this and thinking: "Shame on you, you capitolists, you slaves to the factory, you victims of advertising, you. Buying a Miranda class? *slaps wrists* What are ya, some bunch of know nothing part time space tourists?
Custom Hybrid, hun! Why settle for the bargin bin stuff that they peddle to the masses? you're mercs! You DEMAND satisfaction! Besides, this way theres no well known design flaw for this model that your enemies can exploit. Besides, it looks better and its an excuse for having vynl decals. Bwahaha!

Also... goddaim, guys! 6 pages in one day?! How.. why... WHY!? Hehe, sorry, im just not used to such activity. Is it ok if i recycle my daystrom character, with a slightly rougher background? I might be medical.. but, then again, seeing as his parents are traders, he might be more suited to the whole smuggling / ship modification side.. Hrmmm..

Oh, also, for the name.. Hammencheeze! Or, if your being serious.. i dunno, the Lancer? The Heart of Glass? Starcutter? Something that COULD be nasty.. but isnt so blatant to make every Metrocop in the quadrant descend upon you as soon as you make dock.

Given that you never really settled on your character for the Daystrom, I don't think anyone would notice. :)

*adds to list*
Blackstar, playing as Blackstar
Me, using a new character. Still looking for species.
Mikey, using Sharkey (?).
Jordanis, new character.
Reliant, Talora.
Maybe Minnsky, using new character.
Deepcrush, using his old character, whose name I've forgotten (sorry!).
Jabber , using his/her previously established character.

I assume it takes place around the same time period. Probably shortly after Blackstar and Talora leave the Daystrom.

But wasn't the Heart of Glass already taken? That was your personal ship, right?

Let's see...

Normal Crew size: 50-500
Max Crew: 500, 10000 evacuation limit(remember cargo bays can be reconfigured if necessary)
minimum crew: 2-6

Weapons: At least 8 torpedo tubes, and pulse phasers or disrupters as primary weapons. Two standard phasers for missions needing more precise weapons.
Defences: Shields, 10 cm Ablative armor
Cargo: 6 internal cargo bays(about the size of a basketball court), plus whatever can be strapped to the hull.
Shuttlebays: One shuttlebay going all the way through, port-starboard. two additional bays facing fore and aft, internally connected to the main bay.
Shuttles: Talora's vessel, the Chakat's Dream(if it survives Rochey), two runabouts, and a half-dozen smaller shuttles craft, and any other personal craft owned by the crew.
Special: Romulan Cloaking device, Tholian webspinner craft.

Size: whatever the person who designs it belives is suitable to fit all this.

How does that seem for a general idea? Too big? Too heavy in any area? I figured since Thrall is footing the bill we should be able to really customize the ship, and able to handle most tacticle situations. Or maybe halve these stats to make the ship smaller and easier to handle. I figure she's heavily automated, so a smaller crew can handle it.

Comparing those stats to a few of the ships on the main DITL site, perhaps something in the 500M+ long range would be appropriate?

Though, given that we're a bunch of mercs, maybe we should be on the look out for a smaller ship? Perhaps something Intrepid sized?

On another note, how strictly are we sticking to Trek cannon when it comes to our characters? I have an idea for a character, but his race isn't from Trek. Though they were created initialy to be in the Trek universe.

Given that the captain is a creature from another dimension, should I assume we're not being to strict when it comes to character creation?

Hehe, yeah ^^ It was just a suggestion.. like to give people ideas, though i suppose the actual composition of the ship is probably more important at this point.

Something kinda small would probably be good, seeing as we dont have the hordes of brainwashed fools... uhh... recruits that the federation has at our disposal. Hrmm.

Oh, by the way.. since we're mercs, doesnt that mean we get cool banned weaponry? =D Like projectile weaponry... as far as i can tell, the sheilds of startreck are designed to deflect laser fire, so a high explosive shell in the flank could be disruptive. Or do the sheilds deflect physical stuff too?

Trek ships do protect against projectiles. Though, depending on the yield of the explosive warhead, it could cause serious chaos.
